Yvette found herself conversationally back-footed again by the bold and unusual declaration, while George, for his part, only nodded approvingly as Andrea stood her ground. She shook off the shock quickly, though, taking the other girl’s questions one at a time. ”No. I’ve got the looks for it. And that’s classified,” she ended with a wink.

”I do a lot of things. Most of the week I’m a TA over at the trainer’s school in Rustboro,” she answered more seriously, nodding back towards Meteor Falls and the city beyond. ”Though I’ll be a teaching classes of my own starting next semester.” The price of transferring in midway through the school year.

”I’m a zoologist in my off-hours, however. Ethology to be specific; researching Pokémon behavior in their natural habitat whenever I can. And…” she continued, dragging the sentence out for dramatic effect. ”I happen to be in the market for an assistant or two.”

Strange as Andrea was, she seemed entirely unapologetic about herself and her goals, a trait Yvette could definitely get behind. And besides, scientists were generally an eccentric bunch anyway. She’d hardly stand out that much from the Bill Nyes and Miss Frizzles of the world.

"Oh, so you're a teacher. What's your class about?" The young PokéManiac inquired. Given the fact that Yvette worked in a trainer's school, she probably taught Battle Theory, but there was a slight chance she could be teaching the kids something boring, such as math.

The second revelation was far more important, though. "What's... E-tho-lo-gy?" Andrea barely finished posing that question, before Yvette provided a handy explanation. "Oh, Pokémon behavior. That's so interesting!" The girl's face lit up, evidently enthralled by that field of research.

And her smile grew even brighter when the older woman mentioned that she was looking for an assistant. "Me! Me! I could be your assistant!" She declared. "Learning how Pokémon behave will aid my eventual transformation into one! Hmmm, or is the scientific term metamorphosis?" She pondered aloud, becoming lost in her own thoughts.

”It varies,” she said with a dismissive wave. ”Battle Theory mostly, but there’s different classes for first-time trainers and more advanced students.”

It also wasn’t exactly what she was offering at the moment.

”Then it’s settled!” She clapped her hands, then pulled out her phone. ”I’ll go ahead give you my number, and we can work out all the nitty gritty stuff later.” Maybe this girl wasn’t exactly “qualified” or “professional,” but as far as Yvette was concerned, passion was all one really needed for this job; something Andrea had in spades.

”I’m looking forward to working with you, Andrea”
