When they had met back at Lavaridge, one of the many things he and Amaryllis had talked about had been travelling and sight-seeing. Meteor Falls may be no gorgeous Alolan landscape, but out of all places in Hoenn, it happens to be one of Mars’ favourites. It also happens to be the sort of place where many pokémon he seeks apparently dwell.

So, why not invite Lis to join him on this trip to the cavern on an apparent whim when stopping by her bakery?

If anything, she seems like she’d like getting out of Sootopolis and going sight-seeing.

”Ever been to the falls before?” He smiles at her when they reach the entrance to the cavern, his own Espeon walking by his side. ”We should take a picture later, we can send it to Killian.”

As soon as Mars had mentioned getting out of Sootopolis, she'd leapt on the offer without a moment's hesitation. It wasn't that the city had been bustling with criminals and fights, but rather a lack of business that was driving her up the walls. After Rocket's takeover, Sootopolis had seen fewer and fewer visitors by the day and that often left her with blocks of time that she had no clue what to do with.

"Once with Killian..." She smiles back, idle hands carefully pinning back loose strands of hair. "I didn't get to see a lot, but it's really pretty!"

Dianthus struts before them, carrying herself with the confidence of someone who's been here a dozen times. During the last trip, she'd made sure to memorise the route to the most scenic of places they'd passed by. With any luck, they'll be able to visit those areas once more before going deeper into the cavern.

"We should! Oh, and how were the cupcakes from last time? I wasn't too sure what flavours you two liked so I just went for some basic vanilla ones..."

FUTURE SIGHT had given Delphi a slight idea of everything that was about to happen, the Espeon being calm yet ready to strike at just the right moment. Still, she stays close to Mars nevertheless, her large ears twitching as she listens to the conversation between him and Lis.

The inside of the cavern, at least, because he’d rather not bother with going back to the heights explored with angelo vestri a few months ago in search of Unown. Maybe he’d think differently if he had actually found some of those.

”They were great. I left most of them for Killian, though. Vanilla is nice, though my favourite cake flavour is probably red velvet.”

As they talk, they step a little too close to where a Totodile had been hanging out, and foolishly brave, the small pokémon attempts to fight them. Delphi is swift to act, though, a delayed FUTURE SIGHT dealing with it without a problem.

Seeing how excited Dianthus seems, Amaryllis can't help but laugh along, letting her fingers brush against the Espeon whenever she turns back to rub against her leg.

"At the rate we're going, it might just become one of my favourites."

Or well, her only favourite considering how little she's actually seen of this region and its hidden wonders. Still, overcoming this wall of beauty that Meteor Falls provides is a grand challenge for any scenery that hopes to compete.

"Ah, I'm sorry... I'll make some red velvets next time too then! Or well, any treats in particular that you'd like?" Pausing in her tracks, Amaryllis sheepishly intertwines her fingers with one another and looks to the ceiling. "I rarely get to make sweets for friends and family and all..."

Following Delphi's lead, Dianthus also moves ahead, sniffing the air and twitching her ears as she listen for signs of danger. However, what she's met with isn't quite so as hostile as the Totodile - A lone Bronzong sits in the middle of a cavernous pool, its bubbles lazily drifting through the water and popping when they break the surface. With her interest piqued, the Espeon can't quite help but wander a little closer, her paws slapping the areas of water where the bubbles arise and popping them prematurely.

”Since Bronzong is a psychic type, it should get along well with Dianthus, but sometimes wild pokémon are distrustful and difficult to befriend.”

She's easily caught up in her own fantasies and it almost causes her to trip over a protruding rock, had it not been for Dianthus' ungodly yowl. Instead she stumbles, flailing a little as she hops to regain her balance. Her cheeks bloom red, her arms stuck out in front of her before she hurriedly pulls back and dusts her clothes.

"I- uhm! I'm okay!" Her grin's a little lopsided, her tendencies pushing her to scoot a little closer to Dianthus. This time, the Espeon seems a little more determined, taking hints from Mars and trying her best to form a Psychic link with the Bronzong.

It hums, producing a hollow Metal Sound - Strangely pleasant to the ear. Perhaps, that was how it showed its friendliness? Amaryllis can only watch in silent awe.

Just as the Chinchou falters and sways, the Espeon butts the Luxury ball out of Mars' hand, kicking it towards the fish with a light snarl.
