Like how any good tourist should aspire to dress, Toshiaki is decked out, head-to-toe in various space memorabilia. He wears the classic black “SPACE CENTER” shirt, with the iconic image of the moon painted across on the front. Such nerdy fashion is followed by a pair of acid washed jeans, and his black canvas backpack, which has color planet-shaped keychains. And of course, we couldn’t forget the iconic white “SPACE CENTER” brand vans!! [break][break]
He had always wanted to come here, ever since he learned about it as a child. Before that seemed impossible, but now here it is, right in front of his sights. A dream come true. [break][break]
“Alright!” Toshiaki pumps his fists in the air, ecstatic for the day to come. He turns over to Rae, flashing a bright smile her way. “Today’s gonna be AWESOME! What should we do? See first?”[break][break]

Rae might not be decked out in Space Center gear like Toshi is, but she’s still happy to be here. She’s in a pair of black jeans and a crop top worn under a letterman’s jacket, her abs showing despite the brisk winter air. She’s not cold though. She has a ray of sunshine with her after all.[break][break]

She steals a glance at Toshiaki. The boy’s more than excited. She can tell just from the look in his eyes and the big dopey smile on his face. He’s practically vibrating. She giggles a little at how much he looks like an excited puppy.[break][break]

She’s not entirely sure about all this. She was never really the sciencey type, but he’d invited her out and she had nothing better to do. “Oh, I dunno. What do you wanna see?” She elbows him in the side, ready to joke around with him. “I’m sure you know your nerd stuff a lot better than I do. Lead the way, Skywalker.”

Despite being so alike they differed quite a lot as well. Toshiaki’s much more modest with his attire, despite being just as athletic as Rae. The cold weather doesn’t seem to affect him much, either.[break][break]
Quietly he fidgets with the straps of his backpack, like a child ready for their very first field trip. He beams over at Rae. “Yeah! The space center’s wicked cool! Heck, I could probably tell ya more than those silly automated informational intercoms can.”[break][break]
As they approach the entrance he pauses, notices a flashy balloon stand and all the jublisant children crowding over it, hounding the poor salesman. They had classic Clefairy balloons, Miniors in a variety of colors, and then simple star shaped ones that glittered like pure gold..[break][break]
He stares a good long while, before forcing himself to pry his sparkling gaze away.[break][break]
'C’mon dude, you’re way too old for a balloon.'[break][break]
“W-We can check out some of the rocks and spacesuits on display!”[break][break]
He strains a smile, but he really was happy to be here with her! “Astronauts actually collected them and brought them back to earth! Then there’s the planetarium, where it’s like you’re drifting through the galaxy itself.”[break][break]

She laughs. She’s trying to act cool. As cool as someone can act in a science museum. “I’d like to hear that. I’ll give you five bucks if you correct something one of the intercoms says.”[break][break]

She sees him staring at a crowd of kids, one adult in the center of the mob. What was he… Oh. She sees him look away from it, a blush on his cheeks. He looks like a sad puppy.[break][break]

Okay. Well, she’s not gonna deny him what he wants. The idiot.[break][break]

“Hey. Run on to see the rocks, I gotta use the bathroom real quick. I’ll catch up with you there and you can nerd out to me then.”[break][break]

She walks off, ducking behind a corner and watching him. She’s not that stealthy, so he might be able to see her head poke out around the corner every minute if he’s watching. Once he leaves the room, she doubles back around, shoving her way through the mob of children and pays for a pair of balloons, taking a Solrock and a Lunatone balloon from the salesman.[break][break]

Pleased with herself, she follows the signs to the lunar exhibit, where she hopes Toshi will be. And of course, there he is, his head poking above the crowd.[break][break]

“Yo! Spaceman!” She shouts, waving out to him. “I gotcha something! Which one do you want?”[break]

Luckily for Rae, Toshiaki is completely and utterly oblivious to her ulterior motives for running off out of the blue. It’s hard for him to naturally blend into the crowd given his ginormous height, but this also sets in stone his suspicions about going out into public so casually like this. He is very noticeable (soft murmurs about his appearance and height constantly reach his ears) and that’s something he’ll have to be better cautious of in the future. However, today those concerns are null and void. He simply wants to spend time with a friend this time around.[break][break]
Finding the exploration portion of the lunar exhibit, Toshiaki’s excited visage reflects off from a display case of space rocks and other samples collected from the moon, where Clefairy is said to have originated. He grins, taking out his phone (flash off, common courtesy!) and snaps lots of cool shots.[break][break]
That’s when Rae’s voice becomes louder than that of the bustling crowd. He turns to welcome her back warmly, then is met by the spitting images of Luantone and Solrock in balloon form. He pauses, cheeks a rosy shade of pink. Did she catch him staring at the balloons earlier?[break][break]
“Oh! Uh-” He tries to recover, but fumbles over his own words. They’re just balloons, not that big of a deal!! A goofy smile takes over his expression as he eagerly grabs hold of one of the balloons. [break][break]
“Thanks! I-I’ll take Lunatone! Solrock fits you more.”[break][break]
He lightly tugs down on the string, clearly amused on how the Lunatone bounces. “You didn’t have to get me one, but thank you.. Rae. Want to check out the exhibit?”[break][break]

She stands on her tiptoes and ruffles his hair before putting him in a headlock, smiling the whole time. “Course I needed to. You wanted it, right?” A finger pokes into his cheek. Toshiaki wasn’t exactly subtle with his excitement for the balloon, and even Rae could pick it up. “Don’t think I didn’t catch you staring.”[break]

Satisfied with her teasing, she releases him from her grasp and puts her hands behind her head, relaxed and happy. Her Solrock bounces as they walk along. Rae’s happy to be able to relax and unwind with Toshiaki, something she’s not really able to do with many people.[break]

Moving to Hoenn had been such a whirlwind of quick decisions and meeting somebody who she could honestly call a friend so fast… It made the move a lot more bearable, especially because she hasn’t exactly fit in well with her teammates.[break]

“Course I wanna check it out! What were you lookin’ to go see? I saw you takin’ pictures of some rocks there earlier, what are those all about?”[break]

She watches him, excited to go along with whatever he wants to do even if her face might not show it through her resting bitch face. “I think I saw some rockets hangin’ from the ceiling on our way in, too! Just lead the way.”
