incense smoked from a burner set on stone, and she sat near it. it wafted down the mountain, an invitation to spirits to join her. those that held on, seeking purpose; would they fight for their region in the afterlife, with the powers they’d been bestowed?

she was here to recruit. she waited patiently, gaze carefully passing over the trees. hidden among them was her trevenant. they wouldn't ambush, but she was too seasoned to try and attract ghosts without backup.

the white branches of a cursola were bright against the dark shades of bark surrounding as the ghost-type made its way out of the brush curiously. sage stared down the hill, not moving from her spot. allowing it to meander close.

”spirit,” she soon called down smoky wind, ”i fight to avenge the lives of the innocent, and protect this region from suffering the same fate as my home. will you join me?”

it kept approaching. closer, closer... a faint purple glow began around it, and sagira straightened in her seat on the stone, chin inclining coolly. her trevenant stepped out of a PHANTOM FORCE in front of her, taking the cursola by surprise with ease.

when all was said and done, she tossed a pokéball. it would serve them all well, one way or another.
