she'll have to fire who came up with such a ridiculous idea, yet here she was, struggling after putting the wetsuit on. it was uncomfortable, even though she was already wearing a swimsuit underneath. she tries to pinch at it, and sighs before starting to move around. she may as well get used to it. she uses the sound of a sigh guide her though, instead of hopping into the boat, she slowly lowers herself upon the deck, legs dangling against the inner wall of the boat as she rests her chin against the palms of her hands. "don't sound so happy, there."

His nose scrunched immediately at her question, and he turned his head towards with a similar spark of judgment within his eyes.[break][break]

”I mean…it ain’t that I’m unhappy...?” he started off with a rise within his tone, eventually ending his initial statement with a pensive grumble. Glancing down towards his suit again, he narrowed his eyes before reaching up to tug at it again. ”Just uncomfortable? Like-... I dunno, don’t you feel kinda exposed while wearing this?”[break][break]

He tugged a few more times before sighing and releasing it, watching as the material immediately snapped back onto his body. Quirking his lip, his gaze remained upon the reformed section of the suit before he leaned back against the inner wall of the boat again, eventually glancing over towards his arms.[break][break]

”...At least it emphasizes my body.”

she can't see him. an absolute waste - granted, she doesn't know if she would want to see him. the soles of her feet determine where the boat is, and she lowers herself into the little thing to properly sit up. another hum escapes her lips as she adjusts herself to make herself comfortable in her seat "i get it, though. i can't say i like the feeling of.. this on my skin" her hand is raised to gently tug at the collar "feels tight, and suffocating."[break][break]

her lips curl into a smile as she lowers her hands, with the intention to grasp the edge of her seat "i bet you still look pretty good in it~. not that i can say for sure, but hey~"

”Oh, bitch, I know I look good in it~.” Although she hadn’t seen it, he lifted his arms with a grin and flexed them as if on cue, in light of her words. His gaze shifted over his shoulder as one of the attendants helped him fasten a tether onto the respective slots and hooks of his suit. ”Like I said, emphasizes the goods. If it wasn’t obvious before, it’s obvious now, baby.”[break][break]

He lowered his arms, glimpsing over the boat and into the waters beneath them.[break][break]

”...That aside, though, this shouldn’t be too hard?” he hummed pensively, quirking his lip. ”Supposedly they’re within a mile down? But, like…that’s the max. Probably gonna be less than that.”

who's gonna tell him that she can't see it?[break][break]

she'll let him enjoy himself. instead, she'll just hum idly with her chin resting against the palm of her hand. she's careful leaning on the boat, reaching her arm out to make ripples at the water's surface to gauge the distance. in her other hand, she pulls out a sobble whose first act is to dive into the ocean. [break][break]

"yeah, they shouldn't be down too deep?" she hums softly, adjusting the headgear over her shoulders. "i probably won't be much help" she starts, feeling and pushing for the communicator to turn on "i'll do what i can, yeah~. pabu'll do his best, too."[break][break]

she hums, both eyes closed as she cautiously feels her way to the water "wonder if i can grab a scale from them, too. i heard good things about those~"

”Probably, honestly. Could just pass it off as ‘em losin’ scales on impact,” he hummed, watching the water type leap into the waters with a snort. Inhaling deeply, he took a final moment to adjust his equipment before glancing over his shoulder and ensuring the tether bound to the two of them (for safety’s sake, given the obvious lack of sight a certain someone had) before diving right in.[break][break]

He took a moment to get used to his surroundings, peering through and hooking his hand around to unclip and situate himself with an underwater flashlight he’d been given. After he took a few breaths to gauge the quality and functionality of his mask and the tank it was hooked to, he looked around before eying the Sobble, grinning beneath his mask.[break][break]

”Alright, then, buddy. Guide us~,” he mused, all before glancing over his shoulder towards his companion. ”And you— remember to just follow along with the tether, yeah? Pabu guides me, I guide you.”

"if you find one, pass it over to me then~" she's never seen one up close as a kid, though she vaguely remembers what a luvdisc even looked like. what concerned her is the myth surrounding them - and maybe she's a little bit of a romantic, to want a piece of those. or she could just want to sell one, or maybe she could use it as advertising for a new perfume. all of those guesses are equal. [break][break]

her fingers keep a hold on the rope that tethers the two of them together, all while she softly breathes with the air supplied. the sobble swims through the water with ease, only stopping when it comes across a collapsed, underwater cave - to which it starts to let out little, muffled cries under the water, gesturing towards the stones. of course, the trainer can barely hear past the ripples and movements in the water, so she relies on her companion, here. [break][break]

she has words to say, but they're probably best left until after their mission. she sighs. [break][break]

"yeah, i don't intend to let go anytime soon~"

”What? Oh, yeah, sure— we can actually get a couple right now.”[break][break]

Because after just a little more swimming and guidance by their little sea guide (hats off to you, Sobble), it hadn’t taken too long for him to scope out a rather suspicious pile of rubble a bit farther below. He trusted the fellow Rocket member to keep close to the tether that connected to them to each other (and by extension, her to the boat further above), so he just continued on.[break][break]

A quick glimpse as all it took for him to find a few of the Luvdisc poking out between the cracks.[break]
It was also enough for him to tell that moving shit by hand would be a pain in the ass.[break][break]

So, he turned slightly, gently tugging on the tether as a means for her to follow before turning back towards the rocks. His lips pursed beneath the mask as he gently ran a finger along the nearest of the creatures, checking for any major injuries before just…plucking a couple scales off.[break][break]

‘Cause y’know.[break]
May as well profit before saving them.[break][break]

”We’re better off just goin’ back and lettin’ everyone know where the Luvdisc are since we found ‘em,” he hummed, glancing over his shoulder towards her again. ”If you wanted to take a couple scales before we went back, though, now’s the time.”

"nah~" she'll pass, grabbing some herself, anyways. rather, she gently tugs on the tether - not hard enough for him to be pulled back, but just enough for him to feel the slight nudge - as a smile tugs at her lips. "this is why i'm trusting you to grab one or two for me. just one is enough." it's for the superstition. though she's never been too much into it (arceus never did anything for her anyways, fuck you arceus), there's still the fact that she could turn the scale into a piece of jewellery. she knows a jeweller (though it's a give or take, whether or not he'll be happy to see her). [break][break]

and with that, she hangs on for her dear life, gently kicking her legs behind her so a man isn't trying to drag dead weight though the water. it leaves a bad taste in her mouth, you know, not being able to do much of anything in this situation, but at least she has her sobble, and the little guy was definitely the MVP of the mission. [break][break]

"when we get back, pabu is getting plenty of treats~. course we can bake something later, too, as a treat. celebration for finishing a mission. some way to unwind~"
