ana always follows through on her promises. this time, her promise takes her to the outskirts of petalburg woods, to a little cottage named fiorelli floristry.

aptly named, considering how beautiful the cottage looks.

it doesn't take her long until she's crossing the threshold and stepping into territories soon to be familiar, she's sure.

Well, well, well. No sooner had Elisabeth finished reading PENELOPE LIVY's latest article at breakfast than had ANA STONE walked straight off the papers and into her little flower shop.[break][break]

The woman was, of course, familiar to Elisabeth regardless of her public renown. The blonde recalled ANA STONE from their brief time together at a little shrine in Rustboro, sharing promises and wishes each made for the New Year.[break][break]

Had it not been for this latest article, however, Elisabeth wouldn't have associated the stranger she'd had a pleasant conversation with along with the CEO of one of the most powerful companies in Hoenn.[break][break]

"Ana?" Elisabeth said, arising from her counter with a faintly surprised smile. "A singular pleasure. Welcome, welcome. Is there anything I can do for you today?"[break][break]

Flowers? Perfumes? Something to eat or drink? Or perhaps -- unthinkable and unlikely as it was -- this was a social call?

"Tolerably so," Elisabeth replied easily, leaning back against the counter as she approached. She indicated a half-finished bouquet beside her, its roses mostly shorn of thorns. "Our orders have significantly slowed after the Palentine's Day rush."[break][break]

Most unexpected visits came in the form of favors, but something in Ana's manner allowed Elisabeth to feel she could relax, albeit slightly. Precious few people came here just to chat, and when in her professional mode, her conversational skills tended to become routine and predictable.[break][break]

A deviance in that predictability could be enjoyable.[break][break]

"And you? How are you enjoying being splashed across the news of Hoenn?" she asked, indicating the newspaper left beside the flower arrangement.

"it feels pleasant, i suppose. almost as though hoenn's welcoming me home."

but her attention's soon shifting back to elisabeth.

At the mention of a gift, however, Elisabeth's eyebrows rose perceptively in apparent surprise.[break][break]

"A gift? That is most thoughtful of you, and entirely unexpected. What is the occasion?"[break][break]

A soft mewling announced the arrival of her Leafeon prowling downstairs, purring against her legs as he blinked up at Ana curiously. Elisabeth absently patted his head as she awaited her answer.

ana has teetered back and forth on whether she should be giving a florist this gift. but she's never not confident in herself, so those worries faded a while ago.

from within a pocket, she pulls out a small glass container with a singular flower inside.

"it's a bleeding heart flower. i had it brought in from sinnoh."

freeze-dried, the flower will retain its shape for a few years to come.

she offers it to elisabeth.

Elisabeth received the flower with a thoughtful tilt of her head, turning the glass jar over in her hands to better admire the red bloom inside. "A bleeding heart flower, is it?"[break][break]

The florist in her was prepared to ask if Ana wanted her to do anything in particular with the flower, before she remembered Ana's words: this was a gift.[break][break]

"I have heard of them, but this is the first one I have seen in person. It's lovely, isn't it, Clover?"[break][break]

Her blue eyes flitted up to meet Ana's, her Leafeon attempting to rise up on his hind legs to better examine the bottle that had so captured his mistress's attention.[break][break]

"Thank you. I can imagine this was a difficult item to transport from Sinnoh." An eyebrow lifted, curious despite herself. "You didn't have to go through all that trouble for me."[break][break]

Why had she, then?

in truth, it had not been as difficult to acquire as she originally thought. but that doesn't take away from her intentions or what the gift means to her.

"we've been filming a feature on local businesses here in hoenn. to showcase the immense talent and passion. i was wondering if you'd like to be a part of it?"

Elisabeth wasn't unfamiliar with Rotom TV, even if she herself didn't possess a television in her own home. It had been mentioned in the very article she'd left on her counter, in fact.[break][break]

Being featured in such a way, of course, would be excellent publicity for her little shop. Even so, Elisabeth hesitated for a moment.[break][break]

"It is kind of you to think of me," she said slowly, "but I fear you'll find me a bit camera shy."[break][break]

The last time Elisabeth had stepped in front of cameras, after all, had been before the glaring lights of reporters asking prying questions about her late husband's demise.[break][break]

"Should Fiorelli Floristry take part, however, I wonder if you'd be open to including ana fell in the feature? She is my part-time employee, and the place has been running far more smoothly since she joined us."[break][break]

And it was possible Cyg would find the whole prospect of being on TV more exciting than Elisabeth, anyway. Cyg had said she liked film, didn't she? ...Or was it just horror movies.[break][break]

"I'd prefer to keep my own part brief, if possible. I don't perform particularly well on-screen."

"Mm." Why the hesitation? It wasn't as if something so minor could have grave consequences. Elisabeth had been filmed in a far more unsavory light than the one that ANA STONE was offering her, now.[break][break]

A fingernail clacked against the glass, the petrified flower inside shivering at the reverberating echo within.[break][break]

"That should be fine, then. I hope Cyg enjoys her time in the limelight." Well earned, that, given how much slack ana fell had to pick up for Elisabeth the past few weeks. Covering during Elisabeth's time away in Kalos alone was worth some small reward.[break][break]

With any luck, Felix Gallagher wouldn't be loitering during the feature. That might be a more difficult thing to explain to cameras.[break][break]

Glancing back at the chairwoman curiously, Elisabeth asked, "Who else is participating in the feature, may I ask? Anyone I would recognize?"

when asked about who else would be participating in the feature, ana pauses for a moment, humming in thought as she goes through the list of names and faces in her head.

"Greyson Connors, maybe? he's quite popular here, especially with the younger crowd. from league cadet to fallarbor gym leader. his story is rather inspirational."

greyson had definitely caught her eye.

"angelo vestri is another. local pilot who does deliveries across the region."

Elisabeth nodded as she listened, her arms crossed as she contemplated the names given. "I have only briefly met Greyson Connors, but he seems a competent gym leader," she said with a smile. "I can see why you'd wish to feature him."

The second name given -- angelo vestri -- was unfamiliar to her. Elisabeth's brow furrowed ever so slightly. How frustrating it was sometimes, to still feel so new to Hoenn even a few months in.

"I am afraid I haven't yet had the pleasure of meeting angelo vestri. Perhaps I will have to rectify that. Goodness knows deliveries can be tedious on the ground-level." It was one of many reasons that ana fell and her Swanna had been such an immeasurable help.

Although having a pilot would have made those countless deliveries to Silph Co. much, much simpler. She made a mental note of the name, for later, just in case.

"Did you have a date for the feature in mind?" Elisabeth asked, delicately placing the jar on the counter so that the flower could be admired upon entering the shop.
