“Yes, that makes sense. I know exactly what you mean,” she nods along, moving to lean against the counter, “angelo vestri has been helping me chart the distortions: their location, their frequency, the size of them, etcetera,” They’ve mapped 6 so far, which is a pretty good number of them, “We’re almost to the point where we can analyze the data and try to recognize patterns,” Hopefully, that will give them some answers.

If the answer is “they are random”, then it at least tells her to focus on another aspect. Perhaps she needs to explore the distortions more, “Any information you can gather from the events I greatly appreciated, James. I know it’s dangerous going in there but . . . more eyes on these things the better! I can’t cover all the ground every time and I’m always afraid I’m missing something,” she admits with a frown, “What is your hypothesis?”

The exchange of ideas is the founding principle of science, and how advancements are made.

"i think the rift between our different universes has started to become unstable. this explains the odd phenomenons like the rifts or the sudden appearance of crystablooms. i also think there's a point in time and space that perhaps may be more unstable than the others. maybe a bridge between universes?"

Eva listens and considers his theory. It made sense, and mirrored her own to a degree, “Definitely unstable,” she agrees, nodding along. Still, something probes at the back of her mind, “I just feel like . . . there’s an energy we’re missing, you know? Primal Energy is powerful but,” she shakes her head, “Space-time powerful?” she leans against the table as he mind wanders, the mad ramblings of a scientist flowing freely. She puts her own tin foil hat on, “There’s gotta be something else working synergistically,” she points towards the samples with a smile, “That’s what I’m hoping to find with these,” a smile brightens her ever-exhausted features, “If there’s more than just Primal Energy in there I’m gonna find it,” Understanding why their world is so desired is the first step in protecting it.

Eva smiles at James’s enthusiasm, it’s similar to her own. She finds herself excited to have such an eager assistant joining the ranks.

“Indeed we will, James!” she seals it with a confirming nod, “Just be careful in those distortions! Can’t lose an assistant to the research!” after a moment of consideration, Eva decides on a course of action, “How about we explore the next one together?” the more the merrier, right? That probably meant the safer they’d be.
