Hideo could at least appreciate his Zarude had the decency to drop him on soft grass, instead of something tougher like a footpath. He would've preferred not getting dropped at all, but it was the best he could do when it did stuff like this.

"Find a good spot, Vines?" he asked, gradually picking himself up off the ground. Once he was back on his feet, his Zarude guided him forward, before audibly patting the ground in front of him. "I'll take that as a yes."

Hideo swung his pack around, quickly retrieving the seed packet as his Zarude dug at the ground. He opened the packet, handing them off.

As the Zarude planted the seeds, a wild Pokemon wandered in. Hideo didn't notice it, on account of its silent floating, but the Zarude did; when the Pokemon wandered too close, Vines went straight for a Bite, bypassing its Wonder Guard and dropping it immediately.

Only then did Hideo realize it was there. "I should leave a Pokemon to keep an eye on this," he muttered, retrieving a Pokeball to toss at the ko'd wanderer. He'd been fortunate to have Andy Blackadder and his Pokemon to monitor and protect his carrot seeds last time. He wouldn't be that fortunate this time, and if any Pokemon could wander in like that, his Gracidea plant would be at risk.

Fortunately, he had just the Pokemon for the job…
