Bryan was once again working with mars. Apparently someone's mareeps got out and where there are sheep, there are wolves. [break][break]

And seeing how all pokemon belonged to rocket, then so did these mareep. Bryan had arrived in usual get up with his mask and a belt full of pokeballs, some of them with steel plates on them that Remiel Calcifet had taught him to use like when they went and kidnapped several gardevoirs. [break][break]

All pokémon exist for the glory of Team Rocket, and such being the case, when a poor farmer’s Mareep escape and end up finding themselves near the portion of Petalburg Woods under which exists a smuggling facility, it can only be called fate. At least, that’s how the admin would put it, and perhaps this mentality of his is why he answers the call himself.

It may also be because Mars distrusts the abilities of most people, even when it comes to something as seemingly uncomplicated as catching lost sheep.

bryan delarosa, however, has earned his acknowledgement, and perhaps even his respect.
[break][break]
”No, nothing here.” He responds, and it’s from a Luxury Ball that he releases a Hatterene out of all pokémon. ”Mareep. They’re lost. Find them.”

Emotions like confusion and fear should be easily picked up by a pokémon so attuned with such things, and sure enough, the Hatterene’s senses seem to pick up on something after a short moment, and she points them in the its direction.

Bryan nodded and followed behind the hatterene silently, knowing anything too rash or extreme might set it off. However he does send out a Pokémon to assist Martín del Mar's psychic type in locating the bounty. [break][break]

This Thievul apparently would also hold some rather...interesting mutation as he found the egg during the GEOMANCY raid. It had access to a unique move according the pokedex and Bryan wanted to see if it was just a glitch or not. [break][break]

Eventually they located the goal and Bryan nodded to thievul. "Go." he ordered as Thievul unleashed the move, FRENZY PLANT. A barrage of roots and plant life invaded the area in front of them, the mareep who had been grazing in the forest suddenly corraled and trapped. Yet a trapped beast is one that is also willing to fight back. They aim a thunderbolt right towards Martin and his hatterene, Bryan throws himself in front of the pair to try and defend against the attack. "SHIT" He said at the attack lands on him and he becomes burned and singed and falls to the ground for a few moments. His body steaming as it already got to work repairing itself.

Roots, leaves, and grass blades alike attack in a frenzy until the Thievul’s command, and it all reminds Mars of the things his newest Persian also seems capable of doing. ”Did that one come from the tree?” His Persian had, so perhaps a connection with nature was a common thing among pokémon of their kind…

Before Bryan can give him an answer, however, a Mareep attacks, and just as Mars is about to get out of harm’s way, it’s the Rocket Beast that takes the hit instead. ”Arceus…”

Xerneas’ blessings show themselves in the form of Bryan’s rapid recovery, and Mars can do no more than watch, washed over by a certain relief in knowing that one of their Beasts wasn’t just put out of commission because of a stupid electric bovine.

”Hell, don’t get reckless just because you can heal.”
[break][break]
Advice spoken because Mesprit’s words inevitably come to mind, and as they do, he pushes them away, commanding his Hatterene to attack the Mareep and throwing pokéballs soon after this.

Bryan who was still singed from the electricity that coursed through his body groaned "Yes.." as he still felt all the pain that coursed and surged through his body. The electricity dissipated with time and so did the burned skin on bryan's body. The mareeps stared in literal shock as the man slowly got back up as if nothing had happened, parts of his skin still healing. [break][break]

Martín del Mar 's words fall on deaf ears. "It's not just healing." he says casually as he dusts off his clothes from the dirt and Mars makes quick work of the mareep. He had trusted mars by now, surely he wouldn't go and blabber this to everyone. "I literally cant die." he explains as he turns to face the man with a very calm demeanor. [break][break]

"I took a bullet straight through the skull. A few moments later woke up good as new." he explains, leaving out the fact that Priam had to witness it firsthand. "What sucks is I felt it all." he elaborates, rubbing his neck as out of instinct instead of actually needing to massage his neck muscles.

Unexpectedly, a seed of concern sprouts with him upon hearing bryan delarosa’s confession; one that Mars blames on hearing that one of Team Rocket’s most valuable assets is out there taking headshots. Glancing at the younger man, he raises a brow, and it’s all too calmly that he speaks his next words:

”Do I want to know why you’re out there taking bullets to the head?”

Yes, but also probably not.
[break][break]
The rest of his statement is equally as concerning, because while the thought of immortality is all too idyllic, it sounds nothing but dangerous when being bound to the will of a fickle deity. ’Memento mori’, he would tell Bryan, but in this case that’s not exactly applicable…
[break][break]
”Xerneas can choose to take away what it gave you at any moment, right?” That is far more applicable, and it’s for a moment that he allows the words to linger between them while his Hatterene takes care of the Mareep. A PSYCHIC attack lifts a few in the air, and they bleat loudly.
[break][break]
”Either way, if you still feel the pain, you should probably try to avoid getting hurt… Unless you’re some kind of masochist.” That last part is mostly teasing, obviously. Meant to lighten the mood and spoken with a slight smirk while glancing at his companion.

He squints at Martín del Mar "I suppose it'll interest you. since you're the local unown expert." he decides to humor the man "Those weird white haired freaks from the soiree popped up again." he shares as he plops down on the ground staring at massive roots thievul managed to upheave. [break][break]

"That guy, father winter who promised rewards reached out to me and priam conrad . Asking us what we wanted and well...he delivered." he says leaving out some details. "I got blue mulch and Priam got his desire answered too. Little did I know their true aim was to kill me in a different universe, sniper shot to the head while my back was turned." [break][break]

However what should have worried the beast was the suggestion of Xerneas taking away his blessing. He didn't know how he felt about it, one of the few things on this earth that he truly feared was his own death. The other fear of soleil passing already happened, if the blessing was gone and he died he'd see her. This was a very loaded situation for him. [break][break]

So he avoided it entirely. [break][break]

"I wont lose it's blessing." he reassured martin. "I doubt it'd ever come to it. It seems that Xerneas and I have a very good bond with how things are right now. However, that blue mulch wont be used to revive someone. It's insurance." he elaborates as he was truly about to show mars how far off the deep end he went. [break][break]

"A machine to steal power, and it's only power source is infinity energy, AKA. Blue mulch."

He has been called similar things before, and although they ring true when it comes to his interest in them and the Unown Report, there’s a certain irony to it all. There’s so much Mars doesn’t know about Unown, after all.

Still, he listens, sitting near Bryan while the Rocket Beast retells the story of what happened after he and priam conrad met Father Winter. It all brings memories of what he and luka chêne went through, but Mars doesn’t say as much until Bryan finishes with his explanations:

”Yeah, he tried to kill me too. Fucker sent me to an apocalyptic scenario and everything.” He sighs, unusual venom coating his words when speaking of the man they had met at Granite Cave. ”I’m glad you two made it out alive.”
[break][break]
Mars finds then that, against all odds, he actually is glad, and while throwing a pokéball at another fallen Mareep, he wonders if this is because both Bryan and Priam are valuable assets or because he has come to develop a certain trust and fondness for the pair. Both, perhaps.
[break][break]
And in this case, that trust may just prove itself to be mutual, because when looking at him, Mars is sure that his plans for the blue mulch he obtained in another dimension are not something he would go around telling everyone in the world.
[break][break]
”To steal power? From what, Bryan?”
[break][break]
Or, is the better question, from who?
[break][break]
Once more, thoughts of Mesprit’s warning about the Darkest Day come to mind. About how it will ’steal the foundation of life’. How ironic is it that said foundation’s avatar also has thoughts of thievery…

”We probably should talk more about this when we’re not in the middle of the woods.” With that, he smiles slightly. ”It sounds… interesting.”

Bryan rolled his eyes when he heard mars had to deal with him "Every month some weird shit trying to kill people shows up." he groans, annoyed father winter even got his grubby hands on mars.

[break][break]He knew xerneas could not hear him, he was safe in his pokeball to ensure that it'd be safe. [break][break]

"If Xerneas takes it. I will take it back." he answers. "Or from a different avatar if need be." he continues "I refuse to be starved of power." [break][break]

Once all the Pokémon were snatched up, mars suggests that they get out there and Bryan nods. He looks around, seeing how this area seemed pretty safe and quiet for the most part. He looked around, it was nice here, quiet, fertile. He planted the flower down into the ground and made sure it was well planted. "Alright, let's go." he says as he walks off leading the way for Mars as he was in charge of mars's safety.

There’s something about bryan delarosa’s words that resonates with Mars to his very core, perhaps because he too feels the same. He too has felt powerless, even if he wouldn’t easily admit to it. He too craves power, and while he won’t be reckless about it, there’s little he wouldn’t do for the sake of obtaining it.

Power, at all cost, even if stolen from another.
[break][break]
Is that not what his new abilities are, after all?
[break][break]
When will he be satisfied? When will he stop feeling as if he needs more? Perhaps never, perhaps when he becomes stronger than his enemies…
[break][break]
Those are grim and dangerous thoughts, so Mars leaves them to return to the depths of his heart, his attention instead turning to the pokéballs that are brought back to him by the Hatterena. ”Good work,” he tells both the pokémon and his companion, and only everything is ready for them to leave and there’s no Mareep in sight, he smiles – if ever so faintly.

”Yeah, let’s get out of here.”

And so, they go, a herd of Mareep having been collected.
