Togepi army, roll out![break][break]

Toffee takes the lead, of course. Her cheerful little egg toddles ahead of all his kin, sweetly chirping to keep them all in line. Even though he's small, Luka's reminded of a hen leading their chicks along, and can't help but smile as she watches them.[break][break]

She looms above them all, of course, which makes it easy to keep a watchful eye on the group. What does one call a bunch of Togepi anyways? A flock? A herd? A cluster? Hm...

The toddling army makes their first discovery of the day rather quickly. Perhaps they find a certain kinship with the round grass type that rests in the shade of a large oak tree, her unusual coloring making her stand out from the others of her type.[break][break]

Luka hovers at a distance, letting her little pack play with the Cherubi for a while- some made up game that involves lots of rolling around and throwing grass at each other. She'd love to watch them for hours, but as the day grows between the leaves above them, she realizes it's time to move on.[break][break]

"Come on!" she chirps, and her flock of babies quickly lines up after her like ducklings. Luka is unsurprised to see the Cherubi taking up the rear, and is more than happy for her to join the group.[break][break]

It takes a while for Luka to notice that her brood has grown by one.[break][break]

The baby squad has trekked on for nearly a quarter hour by now, little eggs toddling along and having a grand old time in the woods. And at some point, a mischievous little guy must have snuck in![break][break]

It takes her a solid minute to shuffle through her Togepi as they clamber and squeak around her ankles. Eventually, Luka spots one with a star shaped spot on his shell— he definitely wasn't there before.[break][break]

"Looks like we have a a stowaway," she giggles, reaching down to pat the baby's spikey head. "Would you like to join us? We have snacks!" [break][break]

He certainly is a lucky egg! The bribery is far from necessary, as the Togepi already seems well incorporated into her little flock. But it certainly helps to sweeten the deal! A blanket is laid out as Luka puts out treats for all the eggs, and she lounges back on it while the voracious eaters tear through her buffet in minutes.[break][break]

Luka's picnic does more than satiate a gaggle of hungry Togepi.[break][break]
Attracted by the sweet scent of berries and other snacks, it's not long before a hungry Nidoran wanders towards the blanket. She snuffles along, sniffing cautiously into the air, as Luka grins and tosses a berry towards her.[break][break]
Why hadn't she though of this before? This is much easier than hunting around in the grass for wild Pokemon. After just a few minutes the Nidoran is happily chowing down on a few berries and bonding with the eggs, and nary a Pokeball has been thrown. She didn't even have to stand up![break][break]
Luka smiles to herself and pops a strawberry into her mouth. This is the best idea she's ever had.[break][break]

This is the best idea she's ever had...[break][break]
Her Pokemon are happy, and so Luka is happy too. As far as picnics go, this one is a rousing success! Although it's perhaps a bit too effective at attracting wild Pokemon.[break][break]
The Togepi have decimated most of her snacks, but there's still enough left over to draw the eye of a small flock of Fletchling. Luka doesn't think much of it as they pass overhead, and doesn't understand the danger until they descend upon her blanket.[break][break]
Within seconds, greedy beaks snatch up most of the remaining berries. And before Luka can even hope to intervene they fly off with their prize, much to the distress of her blanket full of babies.[break][break]

It takes a moment of quiet shushing to calm the Togepi after their peaceful picnic is so rudely interrupted. But eventually they settle down once more, and Luka begins to pack everything up. Too much excitement for one day![break][break]

But one straggler remains, an Azurill who arrived too late to partake in the feast. Large, round eyes look pitifully up at her, and Luka's heart melts.[break][break]

There's only one berry left— an eggant. Will the Azurill even eat it? Luka offers it to the bouncing baby sheepishly, but to her delight it starts to eat it out of her hand. And the Togepi, entranced by another Pokemon as cute and round as they are, are quick to swarm the newcomer and smother her with affection.[break][break]

And just like that another member joins their party, and the safari day comes to a close.[break][break]
