The sunset paints the skies in both warm and cool shades, a sight Mars has grown all too accustomed to seeing from up in the heights of Mt. Pyre. This time, it’s a Persian that walks by his side, the same Persian that hatched from the egg he found during the excursion into the Tree of Life. Penningar.

She’s calm, watching these new surroundings that are all too unfamiliar to her, but despite her distrust, she stands proudly, walking right next to her trainer.

”You know what to look for, Penny.” He tells her, a hand stroking soft fur of a shade as light as alabaster. She purrs in response.

A Natu watches them from up on a high branch, one not much different from the one Mars has spent an increasing amount of time with over the past few months. This one, however, doesn’t seem capable of TELEPORTING out of harm’s way, and as such, it’s left as easy prey for the feline huntress.

Since Mars gives no command to stop her, she readies herself to pounce, and within seconds, it’s all too easily and swiftly that she climbs up the tree, blinging the Natu down with a vicious SLASH.

Can that be called training? Maybe.

When Mars sees the Metagross, he does hold Penny back, a hand resting on her head as a sign to stop on her tracks. A wild pokémon is far from trained to reach its full potential, but even if that’s the case, the steel and psychic is likely strong enough to be cause for concern.

Can his Persian bring it down on her own?

Mars decides not to take the chance, and to help her in the task before them, he calls out an Espeon.

The smaller feline makes no sound, violet eyes fixing on the Persian before his attention turns towards the Metagross. The pair has never worked together before, but this is as good an opportunity as any to test out their teamwork, is it not?

”Octavian, you go first. Penny, you follow.”
[break][break]
But, Octavian is not the type of pokémon who cares for close combat, so a SHADOW BALL is what first strikes the Metagross. A robotic sound rings through the air, its displeasure recognizable to Mars after having spent so long around his own Iron Leg Pokémon. Still, he doesn’t stop his cats or call them back. There’s an attempt at retaliation, but vines wrap around the Metagross as if summoned by the Persian’s growl, FRENZY PLANT overwhelming the wild pokémon despite its ironlike resistance.

If ever so faintly, Mars smiles, nothing on how they make a good pair for this sort of circumstance.

Despite being fond of him, ever since he hatched her from an egg all those months ago, the Persian has had a hard time warming up to most people and even to most pokémon. It’s why never had her join the Meowth and Persian that are mascots to the bank, instead allowing her to accompany him at his office down at Rocket’s headquarters. Penny is not a social creature, she does as she pleases unless told otherwise.

And yet, out here, standing next to the Espeon, she seems comfortable with the smaller feline’s presence, even allowing the all too friendly Octavian to rub his side against her. Mars watches the pair, finding himself just so slightly annoyed when a Beheeyem appears and causes Penny to tense up.

”Go.”

And go she does, a low and threatening growl leaving her before pouncing.

It takes a moment and some struggle, but soon enough the Beheeyem flees from sight.
