[break][break] jayden stands beside the lockers, pulling his sweatshirt over his head and folding the fabric before placing it in the locker. in another hand, he has a water bottle clipped to his hip. enough time has healed since his last injury, and his muscles are aching to be of use again — fortunately being in an organization like rocket meant that there were a lot of facilities that could be of use. their training equipment was state-of-the-art, after all.

Mint had made it to the gym with difficulty. He didn't want to be here, and not just because he knew of th4e gross things his boss Cillian Quinn had done here ( thanks chu-e ). But because it meant another day....of getting his ass handed to him. And Mint Frost had a low tolerance for pain. [break][break]

Nevertheless, he'd asked for this. Multiple times. With MULTIPLE, terribly strong people. And he wanted to see Jayden again... UGH! He felt like a dog who's owner's were hiding pills in his cheese treats. As he ambled into the locker rooms he announced himself with a tired, "Heey~!" Her stepped towards his friend after finding him, before ditching his stuff into a locker next to him, and removing his joggersand sweatshirt. He isn't subtle. As soon as Mint is done taking off his extra workout layers, pale green eyes are locked on to Jayden's healed over injury. "How is it?" he asked, briefly looking up at his friend before back at his newest scar.

[break][break] jayden is quick to deposit his belongings in the longer, including his sweatshirt and t-shirt. he discards his pants for a set of shorts. he leans back, twisting the cap of his water jug open before pausing.

[break][break] "fine. healing well." his fingers run over the expanse of the ropey scar, which is simply a mark in the patchwork of jayden's skin. mint would see that there are plenty of other scars that take precedence — the scar from Roman Maher at the star soiree, old stab wounds, and of course, the newest one.

"No stiches huh?" he asked, watching his friend trace the scar before letting out a small huff. "I made sure to stock up from the medbay after...just in case." he added as he closed his locker before they left the locker rooms. He'd freaked out a little- a lot but they'd talked it out and he hoped it wouldn't mean Jayden would do something stupid and avoid him if he was bleeding again. [break][break]

That, and he'd been assured the guy would be more careful about it. "I'm good. Dedicated! Motivated!" he paused to show off a cute metal water bottle with a couple of purikura stickers of himself and his pokemon stuck to it. "Hydrated~" he was clearly showing it off. Though he'd dropped it back down to his side soon enough knowing Jayden wasn't really one to pick up little things like that. "So what's the plan?"

[break][break] perhaps mint hadn't noticed. which wasn't surprising, considering jayden had been fairly discreet about them. but he was good at taking care of himself, at least when it came to things like this. after all, it was his father who had raised him.

[break][break] "it's always good to be prepared," he said, nodding in agreement to the other. in fact, perhaps he should go back to the medbay to make sure that he was properly stocked up. you never knew what could happen, after all...

[break][break] "ah. yes." he reaches out into his pocket and offers the other a sheet of paper that he had pre-prepared. on it was their training regimen for the day — push-ups, sit-ups, suicide runs... all fairly rudimentary. though, with mint, he figured they'd start off easy.

Mint, despite himself, grinned up at Jayden. His expression promptly fell when he was handed a sheet of exercises. W-What the hell was a suicide run? "Great!!" he said through clenched teeth. At least Jayden was with him. He was still feeling a little clingy after his sudden assignment in Kanto. [break][break]

"Oh, stretches I know at least." he said, moving over to the math and making sure he was standing up straight before bending downward. He grunted slightly as he began to try to touch his toes, pulling on his hamstrings as he did. "So, got any plans after this?" he asked, already picturing the frap he would buy and the type of take out he'd get after. As his treat for showing up and getting exercise in. "I find it easier to get through training if I plan for a treat after."

Mint's tiny smile turned into a horrified grimace. Pale green eyes go wide at the sheer thought. "W-What?! You never get a treat after? For like a job well done?" He asked. He can feel the disappointment, however, and is quick to pout at the ground as he copied Jayden's stretch. [break][break]

"Boo...you don't wanna hang out." the man whined, though he didn't seem tp push to go out with him either. Especially when he'd been so disapproving of his post work out treats. "Man, sucks to have homework..." he added, sympathizing with Jayden even though the other man most likely didn't mind it much. He sat up straight, reaching behind his back to clasp his fingers together to try a different stretch. "I...I don't really have anything. I did all my tasks and errands for Cillian Quinn ..." he explained, eyes on the ceiling before dropping his arms and then swapping. "Then again, you've always been more hard working than me." he said with a small laugh before grinning at the ex beast. "That...or just a workaholic~" he teased despite the fact that the very man in front of him was about to put him through work.

[break][break] "i didn't say that," he said with a frown as he maneuvered himself on the mat to stand behind the other. his fingers slipped along the other's spine to assist in giving him a proper stretch. if mint had his own things to do after this, he didn't want to pressure him.

"i'm sure gavin would have more work for you if you asked him," he suggested helpfully. whenever he found his hands empty and his workload clear, it was always refreshing to know that he could do more for rocket. as well-informed and connected as he was, Cillian Quinn would certainly be able to steer mint in the correct direction.

Mint pouted, not simply satisfied wit ha job well done like Jayden said. But he didn't want to argue either. He'd just suck it up and...try not to get a treat later like he asked. He breathed in as his coach pushed him a little further in his stretch before exhaling slowly. As his friend contradicted him, he smiled keeping himself form ribbing the other man further. "Ok, I believe you." [break][break]

There's another grimace as he thought about adding more to his work load. "I guess." As much as he didn't want to, maybe he should? "I'll think about it...cause I kinda like having free time too. And my last stake out was super long, Jayden! So awful!!" he immediately went back to whining as they continued through their warm up stretches.

"It was just. So. LOOOOONG!" he whined the second Jayden showed any real interest. The bar was low, ladies and gentlemen. "Gods...almost...an entire 24 hours...and NOTHING." he complained. He lets out a squeak as his friend hooked elbows and he thought he heard something crack. Not painfully but just...like a glowstick getting turned on. [break][break]

He felt warm, perhaps a little flush from moving around. Definitely looser. "Did you teach yourself all this by the way?" he asked as he nodded and moved with his pal over to the hand weights. He glanced over the numbers, selecting the 8 lbs, one for each hand. "Or do you just...do stuff...?" That didn't sound right. He knew about nutrition or whatever.

[break][break] still, there was a benefit to silence. perhaps a 24-hour stakeout could be used to reorganize your thoughts. jayden recalled one time in which he was asked to do a stakeout and he had spent the entire evening planning his meals for the following week. it had been quite a beneficial use of his time.
