Melody had been working a lot lately to boost the general public's spirits with her appearances and wacky ideas. It seemed to be working for the most part, a lot of adults and children got excited and were more out and about in hopes of spotting the eccentric starlet. [break][break]

Thats when she decided to visit the battle hut and take it over with her appearance. She had decided to host an alolan wrestling style little event where she brought her urshifu over "Who is going to take on the Ponytail Punisher?!" she shouts as she wore a goofy little mask that didn't really hide her identity at all thanks to her ponytail. [break][break]

urshifu sighed but he got to fight so he didn't really care all too much that melody was being silly at the moment.

Trevenant had definitely been acting off since the church. It was almost like...he had to retrain the tree. Talk about annoying. Well, whatever the issue, hopefully this little event will help. The Battle Hut it was, hosting a challenge against the "Ponytail Punisher". Clearly one Melody Miro, former gym leader and now an Elite Four member. Give it time, and Hideo might be challenging her by the end of the year. Still, this could be a good chance to get Trevenent back up to snuff. With a Phantump head mask, and a dark jumpsuit, he was the "Lost Child." Playing on the whole Phantump mythos. Stepping up to the plate, he released his signature Pokemon.

Trevenant flexed nonexistant muscles and cracked knuckles, ready for a brawl. Urshifu were...rare to say the least, and even Aaron didn't know much about it. Fighting type, clearly, but it could have a second typing. Well, whatever, time to see what an Elite Four member can do. Once the battle begun, he gave an order. "Drain Punch." The tree's fist glowed an orangy brown and closed the distance for a punch.

The drain punch comes swiftly as Urshifu quickly put it's arms up to guard the attack coming it's way suddenly. [break][break]

He opponent was silent, not really taunting her or anything at all. Melody was surpisingly ok with it since the arena wasn't really the place to have a conversation. [break][break]

"Urshifu! Aerial ace!" she orders as the pokemon leaps after the tree with it's hands poised ready to strike at the ghost with blinding speeds to ensure it wouldn't just vanish out of nowhere and make her attack miss.

The Urshifu put up its arms to defend against the attack, making it slide back a little. The fighting Pokemon then used Aerial Ace, jumping and striking with a chop, hitting crossed wooden arms. One fist still glowing orange-brown, and Trevenant tried to backhand the fighting Pokemon. Even with the defense, that was a super effective move...even for as tough that Trevenant was, and Drain Punch recovering some energy to keep going assuming he even hit with it, he wasn't going to last long. "Ingrain." Roots dove deep down into the building, likely getting into some water supply lines or something, allowing him to recover a little bit almost constantly. If it knows that move though, it wouldn't matter much.

"Horn Leech." From the forearm, a glowing green spike grew out, and stretched towards the fighting type, with more branches forming out to make a wide ranging attack. Much like Drain Punch, it would allow Trevenant to recover some if it hit.

She squinted as it was really easy to get around that tactic, it was nice not to have to hold back like she did during her gym battles anymore. . He wanted to stall out right? She just wouldn't give him the chance.[break][break]

"Detect. Surging strike." she ordered as Urshifu quickly side stepped the attack and began to unleash a flurry of blows upon the ghostly tree. "You tried to pick based on just typing huh? It'll take a lot more than that to beat me."

Aaron raised an eyebrow at the exclamation, even when Urshifu used Detect to weave through the Horn Leech without a scratch. Before he could order it, Trevenant already was disappearing with Phantom Force. That was a good sign. Maybe he was recovering his memory? Or at the least his muscle memory. When Trevenant fully disappeared, Urshifu hit air, only to have to quickly react to Trevenant reappearing behind it and slamming his fists down. Even with Trevenant's surprise at doing that reflexively, he added on a Leech Seed, throwing the parasitic seeds around to catch the Elite Four member's Pokemon while Aaron responded. "I would expect nothing less from an Elite Four member, but if you assumed that I chose based on typing, think again. I didn't even know that you were my opponent. Don't assume things...didn't your time as a gym leader teach you anything?"

Even with his monotone and stoic delivery, he kind of sounded snide. And it elicited several "boo"s from the crowd. The blonde rolled his eyes, even though no one could really see them. He was clearly not the fan favorite. Of course, he was a nobody. Just a trainer that just told off a popular former gym leader and now Elite Four member. Not that he cared about what anyone else thought. He was just here to maybe get his Trevenant back to form.

She raised an eyebrow at him "Fiesty? Hoping to get a reaction out of me?" she asked as Urshifu looked around, trying to predict where the Trevenant would appear, yet it seemed the ghost type was too tricky for Urshifu. [break][break]

It was victim to the ghost type's shenanigans as the Pokémon's fist slammed into her Pokémon. It quickly turned around, and tried to deliver
a swift blow to Trevenant while it couldn't use phantom force again with aerial ace. [break][break]

"Why yes it did, plenty in fact." she answers as Urshifu raises his fist into the air and charges a dynamic punch into the floor, shattering it and causing some rough terrain in the arena, she was going to make this difficult for him now that he tried to get a rise out of her. "That those who have a bad attitude are often insecure. You really should respect those older than you, young man." [break][break]

A single black vein began to rear it's ugly head as melody's migraine began to show up again.

"Nope." Was his deadpan reply. Aaron didn't care if he did get a reaction. Maybe a bit pretentious, but he didn't want her to assume anything, especially about him. While Trevenant's attack worked, the Urshifu avoided the batch of Leech Seeds with an Aerial Ace, and struck the tree in the trunk, sending him sliding back. Trevenant threw another batch of Leech Seeds at the fighting type, hoping to catch it while it was using Dynamic Punch, even while Melody mentioned that she did in fact learn a lot from being a gym leader. She sure wasn't displaying that. The arena was soon transformed into a jagged mess of a field, with broken mats and jagged chunks splayed about.

"Agreed on that first part. But on that second...well, respect is earned, not given. Likewise, on the battlefield, always respect your opponent's fighting ability, and never hold back. Trevenant, Wood Hammer, stay put and let your roots regenerate you." It may bide him a little bit of time...maybe two more Aerial Aces...hopefully the tree's most powerful attack can land a few hits. Trevenant popped out two different lengthed literal Wood Hammers, and gave himself a clear line of sight all around by smashing any obstacles away. While it seemed like random smashing, the ghost/grass type was making sure no debris was going to go flying towards either trainer, the referee, or the crowd.

She had decided not to answer him, her annoyance would only rise. [break][break]

"Remove the roots healing it urshifu. Iron head." she ordered as an uncharacteristically serious tone took over her voice as Urshifu took the wood hammer head on and gritted it's teeth against the attack as he aimed a powerful head butt attack towards trevenant's foot to try and destroy the roots that were healing it.
