The alternate versions of themselves hadn’t been the friendliest bunch last time they met. Understandable, Eva and Matias did enter their world.

Her heart raced, already pumping adrenaline through her veins. She was nervous to face her alternate self again. You can see it in the way she fidgets with the pokeballs at her waist. Unlike Matias, she wasn’t quite prepared to do what it takes, if necessary.

He’s so sure they can’t be reasoned with. He’s probably right, they weren’t too reasonable in Sea!Hoenn. They likely weren’t going to be reasonable here. The time for intervening draws to a quick close as a HYDRO PUMP sails towards them. Blade stands read to protect them but Virzion beats him to it.

“Do we even know what they want?” Their Lugia? Revenge for their fallen King? The Sea people would likely not thrive here, there’s too much land, “And where are their trainers?” she snaps, glancing past the Mega-evolved beasts for any sign of the their reality’s counterparts.

Acacia’s fist pound into the earth again, this time energy ripples like a wave from the impact. The ground beneath the cracks and splits apart. From beneath the Blastoise, thick tendrils of grass snap at its feet, arms, cannon, anything the GRASS KNOT can grab to bring the titan down.

Usually? Eva shoots him a quizzical look. How many times had he exactly run into the Sea Hoennians? Had he encountered their alternate selves already? Eva imagined Sea!Matias to be just as stubborn and her own Matias. That meant neither of them would likely stop. From what she remembers, her own counterpart was reasonable . . . to a degree. But would she even see Sea!Eva?

Virizion shoots forward with Leaf Blade, eliciting a sharp wail from the Mega Gyarados as the Basltoise crashes onto the ground, ensnared in Grass Knot. Matias demands their attention, and Sea!Matias obliges.

He breaks through the barrier like the pokemon before him, an equally as dominating presence. He crosses his arms over his broad chest and glares at them.

’Tch.’ He almost looks disappointed, shaking his head, as the Mega Blastoise bursts free of the Grass Knot and fires a FLASH CANNON at the Zarude.

fuck the gyarados. his target instantly shifts as the FLASH CANNON smacks into zarude. virizion hadn't been present before but she easily announces her presence this time with a swift LEAF BLADE that cuts across blastoise's shell, cracking it.[break][break]

unfazed, matias continues his advance as he stares down his counterpart.

The FLASH CANNON drives the Zarude back and Acacaia tumbles across the ground with a cry of pain. Eva flinches, instinctively flinching to go inspect her pokemon. The ape is quick to recover and is barreling towards the Blastoise one again before Virizion intercepts her path to strike with a Leaf Blade. Acacia is forced to skid to a halt, leaving her vulnerable to a strike by the Mega Gyarados.

She howls in pain as the pokemon latches on with ICE FANG. Matias’s carless needs for vengeance had cost her a critical hit, “MATIAS!” Eva’s voice hissed with anger and annoyance as he stalked towards his target. For a moment, she hesitates, but she worries less when she sees the Zruude going to town on the Gyarados’s head with a few HAMMER ARMS.

“Matias! What’re you doing?” he likely can’t hear her, but she chases after him anyways.

There’s still no sign of another trainer. Did he seriously come alone? If he’s anything like her Matias, she shouldn’t be surprised.

The partial dark-type doesn’t stand a chance against the violent assault of HAMMER ARMS the Zarude pounds into its skull. Eventually, the mega Gyarados falls limp and the Ice Fang releases from the Zarude’s shoulder. The burn of FREEZE spread across her wound and will inevitably consume her. Despite the pain, she rises up on her haunches and drums her chest in victory before turning a menacing glare towards the Mega Blastoise.

When Sea!Matias disappears, the Gallade’s PSYCHIC hold stops Eva in her tracks, yanking her back like a Poochyena on a leash, “Oh!” she nearly falls on her ass. Eva doesn’t see Matias turn to face her. She didn’t even notice the other Matias disappear. Annoyance whips her around to face Blade with an icy glare, “STOP,” she orders, but he won’t. He doesn’t trust Matias, and he certainly doesn’t trust him to protect her.

As Virizion is blasted away by a HYDRO CANNON, Acacia takes it upon herself to keep them both in the fight. FREEZE threatens to consume her, she the summons the energy of her typing and lets the JUNGLE HEAL coarse across them both to revive and mend them.

his distaste for the psychic-type grows with every passing second. soon, it'll join the likes of Eris Halla's reiner, and should eva ever not be in the picture, gallade would likely be dead.[break][break]

a pokeball bursts open, pulling him away for the moment as he returns his attention to the mega blastoise.[break][break]

sceptile's appearance calls for an ENERGY BALL that soars towards the blastoise. it comes crashing into its thick shell, cracking it further. virizion is allowed a moment to recover.[break][break]

though the battle is in their favor, it soon tilts away as a mega gardevoir TELEPORTS into the thick of the battle.

The empathetic Gallade can sense Matias’s frustration. He doesn’t offer the man anything other than a cold, empty glare as he approaches Eva and places a protective hand on her shoulders – which she promptly shrugs off.

The appearance of the Mega Gardevoir nearby is enough to distract him. He choose to strike first with AERIAL ACE while Acacia and Virizion continue to recover with JUNGLE HEALING.

Defiant, as always, Eva takes the opportunity to rejoin Matias.
