quiet, isolated, and big, the ranch is just as advertised. matias isn't excepting too much but when they arrive, he quickly realizes that the ranch is so much more than just those three things.[break][break]

situated in a valley towards the north just a bit outside lilycove is a farm that sits just by the side of a crystal-blue lake.[break][break]

In all honesty, Eva thought Matias was half joking when he brought up visiting the ranch. Even considering a move at a time like this seemed chaotic. However, their good sized home on the Lilycove waterfront was growing smaller by the day as their ~~horde~~ collection of pokemon grew exponentially. Living in the city was getting harder and harder as all eye shifted their focus onto The League elites to deal with Hoenn’s impending doom.

Ignore the Wooloo?! But they’re so cute!

As Eva is tugged along, she lags a bit, reaching out to pat the soft fluff of a Wooloo as they pass by. Eva giggles, and It bas is disappointment as they keep moving towards the house.

A quick skip brings her back to Matias’s side as her quick strides line up with his longer ones. Eva inspects the house from afar, admiring the simplicity of it, “It looks kind of old, do you think it will need some renovations?” That’s not really something they have time for right now.

Eva has never needed much, only the simple things really. Her time in Kanto made her realize just how little she needed when she was on the run.

“Well, let’s just hope the basics work, like the electricity and water,” Eva is not a plumber nor an electrician but there are pokemon that could help with that if worse comes to worse.

Eva too is surprised by the cleanliness, perhaps they knew the couple was coming and made sure it was presentable. The wooden floor creaks quietly as they take a few steps in. Her eyes trail the boundaries of the large living room. It has tall ceilings and windows that span from top to bottom to shed an abundance of natural light into the home. A lot of the furniture looks hand made. Very homey, indeed.

though both houses are comfortable in their own right, matias finds himself favoring this one as opposed to their current beach house. that one feels modern and luxurious whereas this one feels old and rustic.[break][break]

Eva loved being by the ocean, and having it right outside their door was incredible, but the ocean brought a lot of tourists. And tourists brought traffic. It made it difficult for Eva’s water-types to enjoy their time outside. There were always some eager young trainers lurking around, likely hoping to catch a glimpse of Matias’s pokemon. Sometimes they settled for picking a fight with Eva. Their own private lake would be a relief.

Eva tugs him closer to the windows that look out at the lake. It sparkles beneath the afternoon sun. There’s a small porch with some wooden rocking chairs and a little coffee table just screaming her name for a morning cup of coffee, “I love it too,” she smiles, squeezing his hand, “I love you,” she looks up at him with a teasing smile.

For some reason, Eva can’t stop smiling. Something about it feels perfect, which is a dangerous notion to accept. Nothing is ever perfect, and that perfection will never last. Probably to her later regret, she accepts it in the moment, living for the now because there is no guaranteed future. She’s already made up her mind.

She returns his kiss with the same sweetness and warmth, wrapping her arms around his waist to step closer and into their bubble.

A soft laugh follows his admittance. She sees it too, but doesn’t say it quite yet, “Oh really?” she raises a curious brow, “We haven’t even seen the bedroom yet! Or the kitchen,” she leans to glance past Matias towards what looks like the kitchen past the fireplace.

“What’s this place got? 1? 2?” she’s referring to bedrooms. They really only need one. Unless they make a nursery . . . for all their baby pokemon.

bedrooms, kitchens, none of them matter, really, when looking at the big picture. this ranch has everything they could ever want or need. it truly does feel perfect which is a word matias rarely uses for anything.[break][break]

Three bedrooms is more than enough. Maybe too many. In the end, it didn’t matter. The home would be perfect, regardless. As long as she was with him, she didn’t need much else. Oh, how far the independent doctor had fallen. Once she had a life of her own, now it was too deeply intertwined with his to ever be her own again. Not that she cares, she’s happy.
