it was a good thing that Felix Gallagher was also changing, which meant that there was enough of a distraction that the attention wasn't on him. it is possibly why jayden decided to do it the way that he did.

[break][break] there are enough scars on his chest and body that would be normally cause for alarm. not just the tattoo that is branded onto his shoulder like cattle, or the ropey scar still at the expanse of his waist where he'd been stabbed, but also the ghost of scars otherwise not spoken about, from years and years of being tortured by his father.

[break][break] he slips on his pants and then pulls a black tee over his head.

[break][break] "buff?" he inclines his head, but it's only after felix responds to mint's question that jayden realizes. "ah. well — it's just a natural consequence of the kanto training regimen. you'll be there soon, mint."

[break][break] his head tilts.

[break][break] "black sounds like a good color."

"... no, " he said, after taking a moment to consider. "that probably died after the fall of blackwell." that should've been obvious to note. what mint was not aware, however, is what jayden's personal feelings on the matter were. he had just come from kanto himself, he was more than well-aware of the training regimen and what it could mean.

[break][break] mint would not have survived it, he told himself.

[break][break] even if it seemed strange to admit.

[break][break] "the hoenn regimen is nearly as good."

[break][break] jayden gets into position, waiting as mint leads them to whatever it takes for this "nail salon". he isn't aware himself. as with most things that jayden is aware of, he lets another take the lead. at the bombshell Felix Gallagher drops though, jayden inclines his head.

[break][break] "is there a name for our unit?"

it hadn't occurred to jayden that this was perhaps the first time that mint frost was hearing of it. jayden himself had gotten the information from Felix Gallagher and Remiel Calcifet , but also from the typical rocket channels.

[break][break] because his question had been ignored the first time, this time he pins his gaze specifically to Felix Gallagher .

[break][break] "do we have a name for our unit? if not, perhaps we should come up with one." his gaze shifts to mint frost , who is likely still recovering. "i nominate mint. he seems the most creative."
