Lex was impatient, and each second that ticked by after their predetermined rendezvous time made her even more anxious. Mint was supposed to be cracking the vault by now, disabling the Fairy Locks and allowing her to TELEPORT in. Unfortunately, that didn’t seem to be happening.

Tension set in her jaw as she tightened her grip around the comms. Just before she was about to growl into it, Mint’s frantic voice broke the silence. The North Exit? A mental map of the facility runs through her head. He’s on his way to the vault . . . but he got caught. Hopefully, they’d still be able to pull this off.

“Fuck. Let’s go,” The shadow Gardevoir beside her stirred, shifting to follow her off towards the edge of the building once again. Together they disappear in the dark mist of a PHANTOM FORCE coming to Mint’s aid.

He’d just have to hold on a little longer.

Lex is no stranger to the Phantom Plane. Traversing it is always unsettling but it’s something she has gotten used to. One of these days, her soul would probably get trapped, but that day had yet to come.

One guard. One twink. The Shadow Gardevoir found them with ease. He was right where he was supposed to be, just delayed, “Smoke,” her voice echoed through the plane as if in some distant, hollow cave. The Gengar that trailed them took that as his signal.

Hungry, starving actually, Smoke phased back to reality. Mint would see large red eye appear behind the guard. Energy pulsed from his small hands pointed towards the guard. A warm blanket of HYPNOSIS would wash over the man, coaxing him into a deep sleep before he has the opportunity to release any pokemon. From behind Smoke, Lex would step through the dark mist alone and into Mint’s view.

She doesn’t look happy, but she doesn’t look pissed yet either.

The Gengar stands beside her, looking relatively more displeased than it’s master. The tense jaw and icy red glare Mint gets makes sure he understands that, “You took Smoke’s snack,” her gaze moves towards the closet he just came from, “You owe him another,” and with that, she moves them forward towards their target with mint striding beside her.

Lex delicately plucks the badge from his hand, turning it in her own to inspect it, “Hm,” the grunt is the only acknowledgment he gets. Perhaps it means nice work? If it wasn’t, she would have told him.

Ma’am rings sour in her ears. She’s not use to such formalities. As soon as the door slides open and she steps through, she pauses, extending an arm to keep Mint from pushing past her and stepping into the hallway. There may not be any human guards, but security cameras still exist. It isn’t until now that they’ve already been somewhat pegged that they should take care of that little issue.

“Hecate,” she whispers, a cold breeze blowing by them as the shadows shift. Smokes seems to stir happily, anxious watching as the dark mist crawls up the wall and to the ceiling. A metallic crunch[ and the sound of shattering glass precedes the pop of electricity as the ghost smashes the cameras through the hallway with PSYCHIC, “I didn’t think you wanted your pretty face all over the Police Stations,” Lex learned from personal experience it is no fun, “Now we can go,” And quickly.

For the first time, Lex smiles politely down at Mint. Well, was it polite? Or mocking? It’s hard to tell, “Yes, I know,” of course she’s right.

Her tight grip releases him so they can freely travel down the hallways towards the vault. Luckily, the security guard is already doing half the work for them. As the dozes off, Smoke doesn’t even have to make him sleep. He goes straight for a DREAM EATER, droll dripping from the corner of his wide grin and he lunges forward to ensnare the human in dark tendrils.

A sharp hiss makes the Gengar jump, though the connection never breaks. He hisses back as the Gardevoir melts into their reality from the Phantom Plane. The queen exerts her dominance, and after a little ghostly exchange, the Gengar breaks off, allowing her to feed first.

Lex seems to pay the interaction no mind, “Alright, go on, let us in,” she motions for Mint to lead the way.
