The text to Martín del Mar had been simple in its request for an exhibition match - Georgette needed the practice and her Froslass needed to blow off steam. It was a win-win for her regardless of the outcome.

Thus, she finds herself standing in the open field for her traditional gym battles bundled up against the cold despite the season. Beside her floats Alouette, the moody pokemon chattering softly ever since the pair had stepped onto the pitch. Pulling out her phone, Georgette checks several texts from her farmhands to ensure the cameras are placed and the stream rolling.

Once certain of her facility's preparations, Georgette lifts her arm, waving to her competitor opposite of her and calls, "Are you ready?" She flashes a wide smile, one that is entire too sweet when compared to the Froslass's malevolent grin beside her.

It would seem like as of late battling the League’s best and brightest has become commonplace for Mars. Which, admittedly, would probably have a much darker and more concerning tone if they knew of his true affiliations. But, they don’t, and so it is that POG Bank’s ever so illustrious CEO ends up being invited to take part in a friendly exhibition match at no other than Mossdeep’s Gym.

Hopefully this time he won’t freeze.

He brings his warmest and most fashionable parka just in case. Yet, even if the concern remains at the back of his mind at all times, it’s with a bright smile that he greets Georgette Bluebottle when entering the facility she had prepared for their little match.

”Oh, Gigi. I was born ready.”

He’s here to put on a show, after all, and Mars loves putting on a show. As does the Greninja he soon summons from a Luxury Ball, breaking out of it in a flurry of blue stars thanks to the seal placed on the perfectly polished sphere.

Georgette's voice is bright and clear, ringing out over the snowy field. It is not often she truly battles, instead finding herself holding back to offer direction to her challengers - her goal was to teach and encourage, not demoralise. Regardless, Martín del Mar had agreed to the match with the first to faint earning the win.

She rather hopes her notoriously cut-throat Froslass tires herself out from the battle. She turned bite-y, otherwise.

With a sweep of her hand to direct Alouette onto the field, Georgette calls her first move. "Blizzard!"

The sky pales for a bare moment and then darkens, the wind picking up in response to Alouette's now-glowing eyes. With a crack like thunder the ambient air pressure changes, and sharp chunks of hail mingled with snow rain down onto the field.

Leave it to Georgette to confirm his suspicions within five minutes of seeing her. Or, is it her Froslass that is to blame? No, no… The gym leader had definitely been the one who had given the command. It’s all on her.

”Charming.” Is, of course, Mars’ immediate response to the falling snow, a smirk tugging at his lips. And, just as it's spoken, it’s with a snap of his fingers that he commands his Greninja to take action.

Physignathus is swift. He disappears from sight, and within seconds, a dozen identical Greninja surround Georgette’s Froslass. DOUBLE TEAM, creatively used, for in this case, aside from increasing evasion, it also has the secondary effect of changing the PROTEAN pokémon’s type to NORMAL.

There are certain expectations to being an ice-type specialist - expectations Georgette fully intends to satisfy for the match's audience. As the snow swirls and then stills, the attack abating, Froslass bares her maw at the Greninja, her hands already moving together as Georgette calls out "Shadowball!"

PROTECT would have likely been the wiser move, but stall tactics rarely went over well with the public.

Snow bursts up from around Alouette as the miasmatic attack charges and then is thrown viscously towards a set of the surrounding pokemon - three of the illusions are taken out with the attack, dissipating into nothing when the attack strikes them. Snarling immediately, Alouette whips her head around in search of the real offender, murder reflecting in her pale blue eyes.

"Brace yourself," warns Georgette when the attack misses, her eyebrows climbing in surprise at the Froslass's souring demeanor.

Mars watches the battle with interest, following the movements of Georgette’s pokémon. As often seems to be the case with the banker, his calm and somewhat-pleased expression reveals little of his actual thoughts, and it’s only when the gym leader calls for the use of SHADOW BALL that his brows furrow.

”Hmm… You might want to reconsider that.”

After all, if the Froslass’ SHADOW BALL, a Ghost-type move, had managed to hit the real Greninja, it would have had no effect at all, but thankfully for the audience’s entertainment, it does deal with a couple of the clones.

”Hydro Pump. Point-blank.”
[break][break]
Just like that the distance between all the remaining Greninja and the Froslass is closed in a single jump, but it’s only one of them that holds onto the spectral ice-type. It stares at her for a second, and when it’s mouth opens, a jet of pressurised water is expelled.

This makes the Greninja WATER TYPE, and thus somewhat resistant to the damage caused by the ceaseless hail that annoyingly continues to fall. Despite his annoyance, Mars smiles, of course. Cameras are rolling, after all.

Georgette’s head cocks to the side at Mars's suggestion, her brow furrowed in thought before an idea seems to strike her - perhaps the Greninja's ability was Protean, and not Torrent as she had expected. Regardless of the pokemon's ability, the attack had whiffed on several of the clones instead.

She winces in sympathy when Alouette takes the Hydra Pump, the water's spray freezing on the air to fall to the ground much like the surrounding hail. "Try again, Alouette! Draining Kiss." She directs, her soothing tone contrasted by the air of menace radiating from the Froslass.

Taking the opportunity of having Greninja close by, Alouette chomps down on its arm. The swirling grey sky above rumbles, fat chunks of hail still falling, though its seems the Froslass's pain from the attack has lessened her control on the weather.

Eyes of bright amber narrow when hearing Georgette’s next move, but he doesn’t hold the opportunist choice against her. If anything, it’s a smart move, and Mars can’t help but grin, because he knows exactly how to respond.

The Greninja doesn’t cry out in pain when the Froslass bites. Stoic as he is, he doesn’t even wince or grunt, but as she holds onto his arm, the other reaches back, forming in his hand a WATER SHURIKEN that he soon swings straight towards the Froslass.

Physignathus jumps back the moment it hits, for it explodes in a torrent of water upon contact.

Showy moves is what exhibition battles are about, isn’t it?

No one likes watching a boring battle, and when asked for a favour, Mars will always deliver to the best of his ability. Plus, truth be told, he's kind of enjoying this. Maybe it's that competitive side of him...

Georgette lightly clicks her tongue as the attack is called - poor Alouette is too worked up and too determined to barrel through the match to even try and dodge. Instead, she takes the full force of the Shuriken to her head, the attack knocking her loose from Physignathus's arm. Above, the storm sputters, hesitating, before slowly the hail abates; meanwhile, a soft whistle of pain sounds from Alouette.

Her hand immediately lifting to signal her forfeit the match, Georgette strides purposefully across the snowy fields to her pokemon's side.

"It's alright," she coos soothingly, her hands moving to dig into her satchel as she kneels; spreading salve gently over the shell of the Froslass's head, she whispers soft encouragement to Alouette and then recalls her into a Love Ball. With that accomplished she looks up, her expression bright and warm as she offers, "Congratulations, Martín! Thank you for the match, no? I think we have them quite a show!"
