MARCH UPDATE

Literature was something Rory desperately wished she held an ounce of more talent in. If only she could write out heart-driven poetry, or dive deep into the do's and don'ts of novel writing, or at the very least, create SOMETHING of artistic merit. BUT NO! Arceus had cursed her with a horrid hand at the arts, both musically and creatively, leaving her with no other option than the maths she kept to.

Alas, there was still reading.

Tucked in the corner of a cozy bookstore, the young woman sat, curled up in what looked to be a tortilla blanket. Only the top side of her head peeked out from its covers, granting her just enough visibility to read the trashy romance novel she was desperately clutching onto. Each word she read brought her closer to the pages, reeling her in further and further until the tip of her nose nearly touched it.

If someone were to, say, interrupt this sacred moment. Well, that would just create CHAOS!

greyson stood with legs shoulder length apart, half bent over, and with his arms spread like he was trying to hug a massive ursaring.

across from him, a small zorua, meets his gaze and puts on her best shit-eating grin.

"don't you fuckin' d-" his words die in his throat as the zorua 'disappears' from his sight, scampering off to devices unknown.
[break][break]
tucked away in the corner, Rory Faust would feel the lightest little 'plop' as a zorua stands on her head. revealing itself, she bends down until she's nearly over the bridge of her nose, 'reading' the book with keen, mewing interest.

"where the hell did she go?" comes a voice, and the zorua, startled, plops back onto rory's head, invisble once more.

A gasp broke out from Rory's lips.

"Tamliiiiiiiiiin!!"

It was only then, during the peak of her squeals and giggles, that a small weight fell upon her head. Startled, Rory nearly threw her book from her lap and looked up, immediately greeted by a fox-like snout.

Was?
That?
A zoura??

Before she could reach up and pluck the curled-up pokemon from her head, a voice broke out, crisp and clear over the lulling silence that previously overtook the store. When its owner eventually swept by her area, she'd only point upward, both not wanting to rattle the pokemon, nor draw its attention to her quick tattling. If it were her pokemon, she'd want someone to do the same.

Still silent, she mouthed, "yours?"

greyson does his best to get extra attentive to every nook, and cranny, despite the fact that, if the zorua didn't want to be found, he'd have no chance in Distortion World of finding her.

that why he's thankful when a stranger sitting in a corner, snuggled neatly into her crumpled book, pulls his attention to the blank space above her head.

light reflects off violet hues, as eyes widen slightly in recognition. greyson hides the traces of a small, giving a slight, nearly imperceptible nod.

"zoruaaaaa," he says getting closer, "where are youuuu?"

close enough, he reaches out and grabs the invisble fox.

When his arms are sent flying, Rory scrunched herself inward, arms grabbing at each other out of sheer reflex. Only after the Zorua is lifted does she look up, a small tint of embarrassment on the tops of her cheeks.

"I'm guessing he does this often," She laughed, her hand slowly fanning her face. It was getting a little too warm for her liking. Her book-- the cringy, smutty, guilty little pleasure -- slowly slipped from her lap at the same time, falling to the ground beside his feet. "Oops! Sorry about that...!"

Springing from her seat, she attempted to rush down for the book, but somehow, someway, she had forgotten that the large man hadn't exactly fully moved from his position in front of her nook. Needless to say, another little oopsie had occurred.

"oh, ope, sorry." he says as he pulls the dark-type to his chest, watching her recoil as if he was about to strike her. his cheeks flush red and he looks away. "but she does, yeah. too often."

"oh arceus, i'm sorry, let me move." his face takes a deeper shade of red as he scrambles backwards, eager to put space between them.

His movement only further condemned her knees to the fate they had asked for. A soft thud echoed out as the woman's entire lower body fell to the ground, leaving only her hands to catch herself. A shade of scarlet red consumed her face as she hastily snugged the book back between her arm and torso, barely able to return his gaze after scrambling back to her feet.

Dusting off her knees, she coughed, eyes still pointed downward.

"I don't typically see you around -- are you new the area?"

It was a strange thing to ask, considering how her own home was in Mauville, but it felt like the most natural thing to say, given the intense circumstances she had landed herself in.

Gym leader?? The title only further added salt to her fresh, embarrass-driven wounds.

Hand awkwardly rubbing her arm, she offered a smile. "Sort of. I live outside of town, but this place is a million times better than the store we have in Mauville."

That one was filled to the brim with nothing but pretentious crap. Middle-aged moms targeted cookbooks, magazines, biographies about boring white men -- it was everything Rory hated about modern-day commercialized book stores.

"The staff here is unmatched, too."
