Both combatants would survive the onslaught of blows, though neither party came out unscathed. Ripper seemed to get more hits in than the Blaziken, though he could feel the impact of the kicks.

Ripper grinned at his opponent as he continued his onslaught, lobbing punches at his foe.

A final gambit of sort pays off, though it still isn't enough to knock Helios down. A combative spirit blazes with equal amounts respect and determination— he won't go down willingly, nor does he expect his opponent to concede.[break][break]

This time, he attempts to grapple Ripper. Steel clad talons grip the Scizor with brute force, utilizing the same force that had once held dangerous criminals back in the day. Such techniques might be familiar, but that doesn't make them any less dangerous.

As Helios grappled with him, the Scizor would attempt to get in as many blows as he could in the clench. He would also throw in a headbutt for good measure.

Of course Ripper would struggle. Helios doesn't expect anything less. He grimaces as the blows land but continues in his attempts to subdue, gearing up to be able to land a perfect punch. A finisher, perhaps?

Despite his attempts at raining down blows on the Blaziken, the Fire-type wouldn't relent. The grapple was beginning to wear on the Scizor. Ripper would change his tactics, attempting to use his opponents momentum against him, in an attempt to throw him off of him.

His own exertion begins to wear down on him. Not as spry as he used to be, Helios grunts as he attempts to hold Ripper steady, but the Scizor's struggling eventually pays off. He skids back several feet, his hold on his opponent finally relinquished.[break][break]

Their fighting has been drawn out far longer than his previous battle. And though Helios is still standing strong, Luka can tell that he's winded. Beginning to tire. She cheers again from the sidelines, hoping to invigorate him.[break][break]

Helios hears it, but he doesn't react. His focus is steady and singular. This time, he doesn't go right back for Ripper's throat. Instead he draws back, running circles around the Scizor at breakneck speed. When he finally breaks and flies in with another punch, he hopes to catch his opponent off guard and dizzy.

As Ripper finally throws Helios off of him, he grins. Though he too is exhausted after the prolonged match, it's clear that he's enjoying himself. Thomas, from the sidelines, cheers him on as well. Despite this, his focus is only on the Blaziken.

As the Blaziken runs circles around him, Ripper instead focuses on the footsteps of the Fire-type. He begins to focus himself for what's coming, preserving himself for the final series of clashes. When the Blaziken stops, and leaps in for the punch, Ripper turns to face him, pincer raised for a punch of his own.

Fists collide and sparks fly. Hardened talons collide against wrought iron pincers and the clang reverberates around the arena like a bell. Luka gasps as she watches the two powerhouses clash; at this point it's impossible to tell who will come out on top.[break][break]

He'd swung with his right arm. Now, Helios' left leg kicks out, delivering just as powerful a blow right into Ripper's throax. A small burst of flame helps to propel his leg upwards to add extra momentum and force. Their match has been an exhilarating one, but now it's time to finish it.

The kick to the chest sends Ripper flying back several feet. Despite this, the Scizor gets up, on his last leg. Staring at the Blaziken, he grins, before charging the Fire-type with one flying punch. If he was going to go out, he'd go out in style.
