Eva’s heart fills with warmth as she watches Eris happily dive into the task of collecting blood from the Ampharos. It’s as if all the worry had melted away, replaced by nothing but wonder and excitement, “Yes, it’s mixed with STUN SPORE. It helps numb the skin there so there’s less of a poke,” to be honest, she didn’t know why they didn’t use it in human medicine more, maybe because they could tell a human was happening and that they need to stay still. Some pokemon understood but others weren’t quite as sharp and were still startled by the process.

Eva’s look turns more stern at the mention of missed doctor’s appointments. Her arms cross over her chest and she peers down as Eris, “Eris, you have to take care of yourself,” she reaches forward to poke a finger playfully into the girl’s side, “You only get one body in this lifetime. If you don’t take care of it now, when you get older you won’t be able to use it! That would really limit your adventures, don’t you think?”

"Can't they use Stun Spores whenever they give people injections? That would hurt a lot less." She pouts, watching as the vials fill a vibrant red. And as Eva Morales moves to poke her sides, she lets out a small giggle, shifting away to avoid the ticklish sensation.[break][break]

"I just... don't like going to the hospital... It makes me super nervous... And I don't like how they poke a lot, or kind of stare when they see my scars." Her gaze dips with the sudden awareness, but she picks herself up just as quickly. "I do wanna be able to adventure for a long time though..."[break][break]

True, it would hurt a lot less if they used her methods. Of course, she wasn’t a human doctor, so she didn’t know why. Eva has used the salve in the field on soldier’s wounds so really they should think about it, especially with younger children scared of needles. That’s not her place, though.

“Well, you shouldn’t have to go alone,” Eva frowns, watching the vial fill. She holds out the tubes to fill with blood to take back to the lab, “Nice work, by the way,” she smiles, glancing down at Eris, “You’re a natural!”

Eva ponders Eris’s dilemma for a moment, occupying her hands by tilting the vials filled with blood to mix them. Eva would go with her if Eris asked, of course but she’d let the child come to that conclusion on her own. Plus, it really should be her official guardian or parent that goes to make medical decisions with her, “Perhaps you can find a more personal doctor that you can trust, one that doesn’t make you go to a hospital every time you need something.”

"I'd wanna be able to help pokemon like this if I went on a big adventure. I'd go from place to place and if there were sick pokemon, I'd use whatever I learnt from you!" She murmurs, looking to Eva Morales for a moment before remembering to check back on the tubes with a soft reminder from Reiner. "And well... that's why I go to the infirmary when bad stuff happens. But I still get nervous around them sometimes."[break][break]

Rocket doctors weren't incapable but there were times where she'd still choose to avoid them if it weren't cases of life and death. But as she looks to her own hands and traces the lines across her palms, she has a realisation.[break][break]

"Maybe you could go with me? I- if you aren't busy or anything...?"

Eva smiles down at Eris, please to hear she wants to help others. That’s the side of Eris she wants to nurture and grow lush enough to bury the poison Rocket had infected her with. She didn’t hold Eris accountable for the things she did against MATIAS SILPH. She’s just a child. One that was manipulated into a lifestyle that she didn’t deserve. She still had room to grow and change.

“That’s very admirable of you, Eris,” Eva praises with an affirming smile, “Your future patients will be lucky to have you as their healer!” she rests a gentle hand on Eris’s shoulder to squeeze it in emphasis.

Eris’s question make her pause for a moment, brows gently knit together in thought s she glanced down at the young girl. Really, a legal guardian or ‘parent’ should be the one taking her to get medical assistance. By law, Eva would have no right o speak to a doctor of Eris’s behalf . . . but if that’s what got her to the doctor . . . “Of course, Eris. Anything you need.”

Eris wonders if there will ever be a day where she'll truly find herself needed in some stranger's life, more so than to just be that kid which people try to look out for. However, that's not the only thing she finds herself focusing on.[break][break]

That bit of time that Eva Morales takes to mull things over makes her just that bit nervous, but she's never found a reason to feel disappointed when it comes to her. And as Eva agrees to her request, her heart whispers that she'll probably never find one that would make her stay far away for good.[break][break]

"Then I'll let you know when I need to go next!" She hums, looking to Eva expectantly as she hands over the last vial. "So the blood's gonna be used to run some test. Do we just observe after the Ampharos for the time being?"[break][break]

Looking at the Ampharos, it seems far more awake and responsive now that it's had some time outside. And it waddles closer to the edge of the pier, its attention now focused on the crashing waves and the clouds floating on the horizon.[break][break]

"Maybe it just wants to be outside for a while longer?"
