Manectric dodged and sent a wave of SHADOW BOLT at Diancie. While Diancie did what they could to dodge, even the mere gracing of the SHADOW BOLT was enough to cause pain.

Elinor responded to the usage of her name. Attention quickly moved to Matias, as she caught the thing that he threw her. Wait is that? Elinor thought. The sight of the pink gem reminded her of something Matias had shown her during their last battle.

The stone in hand starts to glow as Elinor gazes confidently toward the Diancie. The energy released from the gem quickly shot towards Diancie transforming the Legendary from its usual rocky appearance and into an almost bridal-looking gemstone beauty.

Though it did not wait for the Manectric to do more. Instead, the Diancie shot its arm forward commanding a DIAMOND STORM to wash away the Manectric. Though now evolved into MEGA DIANCIE, this DIAMOND STORM carried a huge increase in potency.

this time, manectric's ROAR isn't enough to fend off the DIAMOND STORM that comes their way. it's lifted off its feet only to be swept back. it crashes into a boulder, grunting under the pain.[break][break]

it's a shame matias doesn't have a mega stone for it. maybe then, they'd be able to level the playing field more.[break][break]

oh well.[break][break]

manectric struggles but rises back to its feet. it coughs out dark energy only to send another SHADOW BOLT at diancie, this one more chaotic and uncontrolled.

While it had seemed Diancie and Manectric were somewhat on equal footing before Mega evolution. The difference in power became quite obvious to Elinor, and to be honest it felt intoxicating. However, the physical toll of Mega evolving a Legendary Pokémon reared its ugly head. Her breathing grew heavy, she felt pressure in her chest.

“Keep the pressure up!”

Meanwhile, Diancie saw the erratic SHADOW BOLT that fired towards it. But now imbued with its full spectacular power, it feared not the bolt. With a dramatic wave of its arm, the Diancie commanded STONE EDGEs to sprout in a cone in front of it.

The Large piercing rocks burst forth, some in the unfortunate path of the SHADOW BOLT, taking the hit and getting destroyed in the process, others continued on their path, sprouting one by one towards the Manectric, intent on dealing as much damage as it could muster.

Perhaps Diancie was getting carried away or was she perhaps being influenced by her whom linked with her in Mega evolution?

STONE EDGES travel, breaking through rough terrain to block the SHADOW BOLT. sharp bits and pieces fall to the ground but the STONE EDGES don't end there. they reach manectric, slamming into its underside to knock it up into the air with a yelp![break][break]

this time, manectric isn't in control, so it's with a reckless abandon that it breathes out a FLAMETHROWER that pours across the battlefield.[break][break]

it will soon fall, that much matias knows. but he will allow elinor and diancie to get the final attack in to take it down.

Her lungs craved air, and she could not breathe it quickly enough. Nor could her body cool itself as it tried to handle the stress of the link between the pair. Sweat ran down her face like a salty waterfall. But yet as the signs of fatigue continued to well up, she fought valiantly to continue.

Meanwhile, Diancie was enjoying this return to power. It watched with ready, perhaps even hungry eyes as the Manectric was sent flying.

A desperate FLAMETHROWER was thrown at Diancie.

With an elegant raise of her right hand, Diancie commanded a furious gale of DIAMOND STORM to meet with the flames. The ocean of glittering pink jewels rose like a geyser from the floor as it met with the flames, hoping to overcome the heat and wash away the Manectric with all of the might that Diancie could muster.

Did they just win? Surprise washed over her face as the threads of Mega evolution slipped from her grasp.

Diancie reverted back into its normal form.

Elinor’s legs started to buckle. Not yet used to the strain of normal Mega evolution, jumping right to Mega Evolving a legendary Pokémon was finally catching up. She was about to fall into a kneeling when she felt a reassuring hand keeping her standing.

Diancie sent her a smile.

They then both turned their attention to Matias. “That was much closer than I expected it would be…” She sent him a smile. “I knew you were a strong trainer, but I guess I didn’t realize just how strong.” She had definitely noticed how much on the backfoot it seemed Diancie had been before Mega evolving compared to when she had challenged the Legendary Pokémon.

it's one he acquired from the hatchery, and it sure has grown in a short period of time. it's almost unnatural how strong it is, but he supposes it's to be expected from a being tainted by the shadows.[break][break]

“That Manectric was really impressive.” She stated. For a moment she considered asking for his training routine. But figured that would be a ‘trade secret’

“But yeah, Thank you. Most of it was definitely Diancie.” The Legendary Pokémon gave a small twirl of joy as it was praised.

“Perhaps next time we will put up a better fight without Mega Evolution.” Elinor said jokingly. Though Diancie nodded with determined enthusiasm.
