it's with a smile that he approaches with two cups of smoothies in his hands. he offers one to sage.[break][break]

"delta's grown quite a bit!"

delta, though quiet, was alert. she knew what she wanted, and the hole she was digging with passimian was hardly more pressing than seeing virizion again.

even before matias gotten close enough to greet, delta stood and held the leaf high above her head, as though hoping to summon it now that he was in the vicinity.

sage looked over, and had to wonder: would it work? her eyes returned to matias, giving a low-energy wave as he approached. when he got close enough, she took the smoothie gratefully.

”hey. thanks.” she sipped, soon deciding, ”you still owe me juice boxes.” and she would get them eventually.

again, she looked over at delta, who was now coming closer, leaf still in-hand.

”yup. and she hasn’t stopped carrying that leaf around since virizion gave it to her.”

when delta approaches, matias lowers himself to a knee and gestures at the MAGICAL LEAF she's holding, surprised that it looks unchanged. then he thinks of the various trails virizion has left all around hoenn. the menace.[break][break]

"hello, del. i take it you'd like to see virizion again?"[break][break]

with his free hand, he reaches into his pocket to pull out a MAGICAL LEAF as well, this one slightly larger than the one del has. he offers it to her.[break][break]

"she gave this to me in case i ever needed her. just toss it high up into the air and she should appear."

sagira only eyed him with a ’you better’ kind of look. there was a tinge of softness to it, only because it was matias—but they weren’t the most well off. single mother at the bottom of the rung, and all. to have a famous silph stumble in and drink up her daughter’s stash had been pretty annoying.

but he’d placed an offer before that she was finally going to take him up on today, which would hopefully improve their situation.

delta’s eyes were gleaming blue saucers, making up in some amount for the perpetual seriousness of her face. no smiles, only dire curiosity and determination. she nodded affirmatively.

sage still watched, hands in her pockets, wondering if virizion would show despite the people gathered on the boardwalk. it was still early in the morning. the crowd was small, kept to mostly those running the booths.

and sure enough, the moment del releases the MAGICAL LEAF into the air, a flash of green shoots past them, leaving behind a trail of MAGICAL LEAVES that almost surround them in a brilliant display of elegance.[break][break]

virizion stands tall as she looks at the three. she gives delta in particular a small nod as if to say, "you summoned me?".[break][break]

"you're such a show off."[break][break]

the attention of those in the vicinity was collectively pulled towards virizion’s fantastic entrance. sagira’s eyes went a little wide in surprise. while she’d wondered, she hadn’t really expected it to work. lo and behold…

delta was mesmerized, this time much more than last time. something had happened in the interim. as always, the little girl said nothing, only walking closer.

”del… give her space.”

the littlest wayland picked her smaller leaf off the ground, having somehow kept track of which one, and held it up again, as though to say, ”look. i still have it. i kept it safe.”

the smaller leaf holds no meaning to matias so he assumes del's just being cute. virizion, however, is far more astute than the elite four. the sight of the leaf is enough to bring a smile to the sword of justice, graceful as she nudges matias in a wordless order.[break][break]

he has to suppress the urge to roll his eyes because he was planning on doing it anyways. but he stifles his pride enough to reach down for del.[break][break]

"del, virizion's given you her blessing."[break][break]

he tries to pick del up to lift her onto virizion's back.

was virizion smiling? sagira watched on in awe. to receive a blessing from such a being was not something she was going to step in the way of, regardless of any potential danger. her daughter, noticed by a grass god of justice? she must have done something right after all.

”thank you, virizion.”

delta didn’t protest as she was lifted onto virizion’s back. small hands curled lightly into fur. she made eye contact with no one, focused through the center of her mount’s horns as if trying to will her forward with the power of thought alone. a silent look of determination was plastered on her face as usual.

were they going anywhere, or was this it? inwardly, sagira prayed her daughter wouldn’t fall off. the last thing she wanted was a trip to the hospital and virizion’s disappointment.

a quick look shared with matias is enough to let virizion know not to get too carried away. the last thing matias wants is to take a trip to the hospital. so, with a small step, then another, virizion takes off in a light run, moving fast enough to be fun but not enough to potentially send delta off her back.[break][break]

it was amazing at first. it brought a smile to her face. and then, they were getting a little far away for her comfort. she started to frown, eventually, concern beginning to pinch her brows and narrow green eyes.

“… wait, seriously?”

her gaze snapped towards matias with a frantic quickness. surely he was joking.
