The crystablooms had stopped their rampant spread around the region, but the samples that had been collected here in the Rocket labs still, somehow, had been preserved and kept alive for study.

The blonde turned her attention to each plant flourishing on the shelves, pensive and lost to thought. Beside her, a tall and graceful Tsareena stood guard.

Elisabeth hadn't learned more about the flowers since her time here with Lulu Flint. If anything, the florist mostly came to ensure the blossoms were still tended to and growing as needed, in case their traces of infinity energy could be used for future projects.

It was a bit of a mundane, repetitive task, but it was one that Elisabeth was well-suited to.

And solitary as it was, she was surprised when the door to the laboratory opened, revealing someone she'd never met before.

Bryan walked in, his arms resting over his head as he yawned while he walked in. [break][break]

"Excuse meeee." he said casually entering the lab to find himself in the presence of one he believed to be Miss Elisabeth Fiorelli. "Elisabeth right?" he asked wondering if she was the expert in plants he had been seeking. [break][break]

However the presence of crystal blooms gave away that she was the woman he was seeking. "Ah yes, Crystal blooms. I've heard they have infinity energy in them, is that true?" he asks her as he stares into the diamond like creature.

The abrupt nature of bryan delarosa's entry stunned Elisabeth briefly silent. It had been so casual, so nonchalant, and simultaneously so brazen, she didn't know how to reply.

In the end, she settled on her default: something distant, wary, and icy in its politeness.

"Yes. I'm Elisabeth." The blonde crossed her arms, head tilted in a curious cant. "I suppose you have a reason for being here?"

Power allowed her to be terse; that tension, however, relaxed once he voiced his question and purpose aloud.

Understanding flashing in her eyes, Elisabeth nodded, reaching for a digital tablet on the counter. Picking it up, she clicked away with a flurry of fingerstrokes, before holding up the results from her studies with Lulu Flint.

"See for yourself. We've been looking into using them as sources of infinity energy, but... given the volatile nature of their blooming, their use as a resource has seemed unfortunately limited."

A sigh left her lips, one that spoke of quiet frustration, before she met his gaze.

"Why do you ask, Mister...?"

As she begins to tap away at the tablet and turn it around for bryan to read, Bryan began to scan it quickly as to not make her hold it forever. [break][break]

"Oh ho, that Lulu Flint works very fast." he grins, part of him still terrified of that woman. But it was more of a fearful respect than just outright terror. What emotion would Elisabeth invoke in Bryan? "Bryan, Bryan Delarosa." he tells her easily, his appearance recently changed given the recent circumstances with the time distortion. It was getting rather tiresome, he was hotter at least. [break][break]

"And good, im no expert in infinity energy but. Being Walsh's battery for the infinity energy is not a pleasant experience. So, please continue to work hard Miss Fiorelli." he says as Bryan would walk towards her and extend a hand as this woman WAS an admin and his superior. "I just wanted to learn more about crystal blooms and possible uses for them. I'm looking for more sources of infinity energy currently." he added as his gaze turned away from the tablet and to the glowing flower.

Ah. Comprehension dawned, her emerald eyes brightening with insight as she shook his much larger, much rougher hand.

She'd read this file, once upon a time: bryan delarosa. Rocket Beast. Avatar of Xerneas.

That he would be curious about infinity energy was a given.

"We were disappointed to find that crystablooms weren't as reliable sources of infinity energy, too," she exhaled, sighing. "They need to be blooming, it seems, to achieve their maximum effect. And we theorize the distortions are their means of reproduction."

She picked up one of the potted specimens, bringing it closer for Bryan to examine if he liked.

"Have you had any luck exploring other sources of the energy?" she asked, curious. "Mega Stones, for example, or Illumina Pokémon?"

The assumed answer was no, given he was here investigating the flowers for their uses. Still, it wasn't her field. She was curious.

"Not enough to be of interest to my goal." He responds as he circles around the table, trying to get a full view of the plant itself as his gaze never breaks from the plant. [break][break]

He stops as he decides to speak up once more. "These things were inside of the tree of life as well, there wasn't a distortion in there.." he said losing himself in thought. "But the Unown were in there, manipulating dimensions it seemed. So you might not be far off."[break][break]

He began to recall the events of geomancy, realizing that something of importance was left behind in that dimension...Xerneas's horn...could it be the cause for these flowers. But he put those thoughts away for now, there was no use pondering what ifs. [break][break]

"I've tried using Illumina pokemon for my purposes but it seems like it isnt enough either. It refuses to blossom." he says muttering to himself as he's lost in thought.

Elisabeth's eyes lowered to the crystablooms around her as she listened to bryan delarosa speak. At the time of the flowers' gathering, it hadn't occurred to her that these blossoms would become such a rare commodity so soon.

"Mm. I suppose infinity energy is a precious resource in even the best of times. I could see how an Illumina Pokémon wouldn't suit your unique needs."

A gloved hand pulled at a nearby drawer, drawing out something that had been placed in a sealed container.

"I should qualify my earlier statement. Crystablooms have the most infinity energy when in full bloom, but... There are traces that remain, after harvesting them."

The seal of the container was broken, and she plucked out the Crystabloom Heart that she had severed with Lulu Flint not so long ago. The very same one discussed in the tablet she had shown Bryan.

"It's not as strong, but there is infinity energy that remains in the crystalline heart of the blossom, still. Not strong enough on its own, maybe, but..."

Something in the word he had used earlier -- battery -- sparked a thought in her mind.

"Do you think it might work as a conduit? If you'd like to try, I don't see the harm."

She placed the jewelled centre of the flower in his hand: an offering of goodwill.

"Is that so?" he asks, his eyes peaking at the crystalline heart of the flower. It was...strange looking like everything else that came from the alternate universe. [break][break]

He stares at it for a moment, wondering if it was a good idea for him to really be touching these things when there was so much unknown about them. He hesitates for a moment, if he could store infinity energy..a little every day.." he says raising an eyebrow. [break][break]

"I'm not the most..scientific person..but if you think it'll be a good idea." he answers as he accepts the offering from Elisabeth. He slowly yet surely grabs it from her hand, he flinches slightly but...nothing happen. [break][break]

"Well that was a let down. Thought it'd...explode or something" he gruffs as suddenly a surge of energy jolted through Bryan's arm and into the Crystalbloom heart causing it to erupt with infinity energy and begin to do it's famous glow.

"AHHH WHAT THE FUCK?" he shouts a sit was very suddenly and the light hurt his eyes. However after the infinity energy stopped so too did it's glowing as Bryan quickly placed it back onto the table.

The illumination from the infinity energy was blinding.

She really should have put on lab goggles for this.

Elisabeth shielded her eyes as bryan delarosa screamed, peeking through fingers to see the crystal radiant and gleaming at this touch. Only when he relinquished his hold on the peculiar floral artifact did it dim once more, and the botanist faced him with rapt fascination.

"How did you do that?" she asked, awed despite the slightly comical nature of the event. "I know some of your ability as Xerneas's Avatar, but... Well, being an admin, I only know so much."

Some secrets were best left classified. Some weapons were better fully hidden.

Bryan, to some degree, was one of them.

He flicked his fingers from his wrist, like how one does when they burn their fingers while cooking. Yet he felt no pain, the shock of it all was what caused him to suddenly scream like that. [break][break]

"I DONT KNOW." he answers back quickly "I was..I can imbue people and pokemon with infinity energy to heal people back to perfect condition...but the infinity energy in my body just so easily slipped out of me and into that thing.." he responds as he steps back away from it. [break][break]

"It didn't hurt but it shocked me and light up the room so brightly.." as he so freely offered sharing his abilities to Elisabeth...not like he really did much to keep them secret.

Fascinating.

She hadn't considered this: that though the heart of the crystablooms only retained slight traces of infinity energy, interaction with energy elsewhere could resonate within the crystal itself. What a potent combination it was to witness.

Was it the crystalline structure that lent itself so well to serving as a conduit?

"Did it hurt?" Elisabeth asked, concerned, before readily offering the following thought that she couldn't resist asking: "That is, would you be able to do it again, perhaps, but while I record the phenomena?"

The tablet that she'd used earlier to show her research with Lulu Flint was brought forward, its camera prepared as Elisabeth looked at him hopefully.

But the fact that Elisabeth was so eager and excited, and the fact it didn't really feel painful at all made him hesitate a lot less. "Yeah I can I guess. But step back a bit just in case the light gets that bright again." he says as Bryan waits for her to press record on the tablet device. [break][break]

Once he gives her enough time, he grabs the crystalbloom core again, and tried to channel infinity energy into it once more, causing it to glow again but this time much more controlled. "I can kind of control how much goes into it...I think. I'm holding back."

Obedient, she stepped back as far as he indicated would be best for her safety, this time remembering the lab goggles that she had forgotten before. The recording was crisp and clean, and when completed, she sent it off in an email directed to the highest heads of Rocket's science division: Raphael Pryde and Lulu Flint.

The possibilities felt endless, in this moment, despite the fact that Elisabeth herself couldn't imagine what the end-result of this experiment might be in practise.

"What does it feel like?" she asked, lowering the tablet to the counter as she removed the goggles from her eyes. The excitement in her voice didn't leave her; instead, it seemed only to brighten, the aloofness that had held her upon his arrival having melted in its entirety. "I can't imagine what it's like to have so much infinity energy coursing through you."

There was so much that she simply wanted to know, purely out of a desire to understand the world around her for what it was.

How intoxicating it must be, to know that nothing in this world could truly harm you. For a woman ruled by fear as she was, it seemed so alien to Elisabeth's own existence that she could barely comprehend it.

How she envied him for that.

Not so long ago, she and ana fell had joked about fashioning some elixir of everlasting life. Infinity energy, she realised now with some surprise, could offer some promise of it. How funny.

"That might be for the best. The lack of empathy, I mean." It might have alarmed some to hear his admission of such a thing, but to Elisabeth, it seemed the natural result of his circumstances. "It is far better than crushing guilt, no? If you were forever weighed down by the unfairness of your strength in comparison to others, then you would hardly be able to do what you must for the Rocket organisation as a Beast."

She'd long learned to shut out similar unwanted emotions, or at least, taught herself to bottle them to the best of her ability. Her own empathy was profoundly deep for what it was, but she buried it beneath enough resentment that the emotions blurred, sometimes.

The solemnity of the discussion struck her suddenly, and she attempted to lighten it with a small, self-effacing smile.

"I cannot imagine what it must feel like, to be a demigod. I am far too acquainted with my own mortality."
