Toni wore her elegant smile with ease. Years of practice being dragged from philanthropic event to sponsorship dinners. She was bred and groomed to be a high society philanthropist, though that’s not where her ambitions lie. Still, the practice made it easy for times such as this.

‘Miss Spina! Thank you so much for the donation.’

The leather box in her hand was gently taken by security to be shuffled off to the silent auction, “It’s polished and shinning as brightly as Hoenn’s future,” she ensured the organizer, even if she didn’t believe it herself.

She watches the donation disappear behind the curtain before she said her goodbyes, grabbed a flute of champagne, and began browsing the expensive wears behind glass cases, each had its own number. She found herself drawn to a rather interesting piece of art: oil on canvas, an elegant depiction of a beautiful Milotic, shinning beneath a full moon as it rest between the rocks on the Hoenn shore.

Well, this was wierd. Kee never expected himself to be put into this kind of situation. When he said he'd help out with a silent auction to help victims of the areas Necrozma had hit, he didn't exactly expect to be walking around with champaine glasses. Or taking donations for the actual auction and putting them to wherever he was told to. Items that would take him a lifetime to pay for if he so much as scratched one. Thankfully, the venue provided gloves and suits for the helpers. He had some looks though. Like he was something smelly the Meowth dragged in or something. But he also moved rather gracefully throughout the gala.

Which even some of the other servers and helpers were actually in awe of. And the venu officials. The amber eyed teenager made the rounds, with the latest being a woman whose glass was still mostly full, but was looking at...quite the piece of art. A Milotic resting between rocks on the Hoenn shoreline with the moon shining on it. He looked at the minimum bid...and nearly dropped the glasses of alcohol. Yep, no way in hell he was affording that. Or anything in this place. Keenan attempted to slink away...but got called...

Rosalie was also no stranger to these sorts of social gatherings. Back in her youth she was invited to many such occasions due to the fame attached to her name. She understood how the game was usually played with these sorts of things. However this event was a bit different. Due to the nature of Hoenn, the dome surrounding it, and the devastation Necrozma had left in it's wake, people had gathered together to put up an silent auction. All proceeds would be going towards rebuilding the areas affected by Necrozma's recent attacks. [break][break]

Now personally, Rosalie believed this was also just a way for the rich to subtly flex their wealth while they could. After all with impeding doom of a meteor striking Hoenn, who knows for how long these people will get to hold on to their precious riches. But Rosalie wasn't here to debate the merits behind this auction, not this time. She was just here to capture footage for the article that would be written for this event. And to rub shoulders with some influential people. And if in the process she could do some good, then so be it. [break][break]

Her media pass badge bounced against her chest as she walked around looking at the displays. This was a formal event so formal dress was also required. Rosalie herself had on a simple number. A black gown with a plunging v-neckline and cutout back. Adorned with jewelry made of Morganite and Crystal, the pink hue matching the shade of her hair ever so slightly. [break][break]

Taking notice of an oil painting on display of a Milotic bathing in the light of a full moon while resting on Hoenn's shores. She stopped to admire the panting for a moment before glancing over at the woman beside her. "Beautiful isn't it?" She said softly as she smiled at the picture. "But somehow...I can't quite put my finger on it, but it gives off a melancholic feeling. A sense of longing, don't you think?"

Toni found the unsolicited pressure of someone beside, also admiring the art. Her fingers twisted the stem of the champagne fluke gently, spinning the glass in her hand. Her eyes fized on the minimum bid, it was pricey, but not completely ridiculous, “I’ve never heard of this artist, do you if they’re from Hoenn?” she ask Keenan Toral, not sparing the young man so much as a glance.

The new arrival is the one that speaks first. She heard the elegant clicking of heels stop beside them. This time, Toni shifts to cast a glance towards the woman. Dark eyes trails down along the black dress to settle on her chest, in particular the media pass hanging there.

“I agree,” the edges of her dark red lips pull into a soft smile, “Certainly reflects the times,” everyone in Hoenn likely looked out at the see like this, longing to be free of the barrier that trapped them. Toni wonders for a moment if that was the artist’s original intentions. Or was this simply a coincidence?

Kee took out his phone and did a quick search. He never went anywhere without it. Especially since he couldn't get out of a box without a map and two hands. "Looks like they are, but are better known in Johto and Sinnoh. Though according to this, they moved back to Hoenn for the art galleries and fund raising for our...numerious disasters." It was kind of disturbing just how many they have. He could only thank Arceus that his parents' home was spared in the Littleroot fire. Putting his phone up, someone else came by to talk about the painting. Kee, being the good little butler that he was, offered her a glass of champaign.

Art and paintings were out of his depth. The only thing art related the elder teenager has done was performances of the dancing and singing kind...and he loathed those. If there wasn't anything else for him to offer, he would slip away sight unseen to offer more glasses of alcohol to the rich. Maybe he could get a couple so drunk that they spent their entire fortune on a couple of things. A silent auction was certainly less exciting than something that was spoken out loud though...

“i agree,” the woman beside her says with a soft smile gracing her lips. “certainly reflects the times,” Rosalie hummed in agreeance. There was nothing like waking up from a deep coma to find out the world as you know it has changed. But not only changed was ending. It was certainly anxiety educing. [break][break]

One of the staff members beside them responds to an earlier question the woman beside her must've asked before. "Looks like they are, but are better known in Johto and Sinnoh. Though according to this, they moved back to Hoenn for the art galleries and fund raising for our...numerous disasters."[break][break]

Rosalie chuckled a little at that. She'd been here for a little bit and could certainly attest to the fact that Hoenn seemed to be the region plagued by constant disasters. It was honestly comical at this point how often there was something going wrong. The butler offered her a flute of champagne that she gladly took. "Thank you, dear." Rosalie said with a smile and nod before taking a sip. [break][break]

Perhaps it was due to her reporter brain but questions began to pile in as she continued to study the painting in front of her. "How are you two enjoying the auction so far?" she asked knowing she'd be given different perspectives but that's exactly what she wanted. The spread that had been offered here for this auction was impeccable but she wanted to know the thoughts of those taking part. Whether they be guests or staff.

Toni’s face twisted in distaste as Keenan read off the trivial information on the artist. Why anyone would ever move back here is beyond her comprehension. Toni was stuck here because her father made her and for business. She’d much rather by back in Sinnoh than in this place filled with chaos. She keeps her opinion to herself for now, no need to upset the locals she was fundraising for, after all.

A soft dark gaze shifted to towards Rosalie as the waiter offered champagne. Toni placed her empty flute on the tray before taking a full one. She felt the urge to cheers something but acknowledging Hoenn disasters was probably not the best thing to cheers about. It did keep the Rangers busy which was good for her business so she couldn’t complain about that. Again, she would keep that opinion to herself.

“Hm?” she was lost in a bit of thought when Rosalie asked the question. The woman shifted on her heels to face the reporter, “I haven’t been here long,” only one flute of champagne had been consumed – and Toni drank fast, “It seems to have a good turnout. Though I’m afraid it may remain rather boring,” her voice dropped for just Keenan Toral and @rosie to hear. She probably would have kept her mouth shut if she knew Rosie was a reporter but a pretty face could always coax the truth out of her.

The lady chuckled, but took the flute of drink and thanked him. Nodding he was about to leave when she actually asked an unexpected question. Before the young blonde could say anything, the guest, which he also offered a glass to, gave her opinion. Then it was his turn. "As she said, turnout is good, but it certainly lacks energy. I know it's for charity, but it's really boring...and I'm working the thing. If I were rich enough to join in, I would never attend these events. Just give a donation and move on..." Really, with so much money, you could have some bloody fun! "It just seems like such a waste and super stale..." It took a moment for him to realize he said that outloud. Panicing, but still not dropping or spilling a single drop, he stammered. "W-well, maybe its just my age...I'll be going now..."

Walking away, he served a couple of glasses to whoever wanted or looked like they were low on. Once his tray was empty save for empty glasses, he walked to where he was to drop them off. The amber eyed teen looked briefly over at his supervisor, who had an amused expression on his face, but otherwise didn't do anything beyond nodding at him. Well, hopefully Kee was quiet enough. Taking another round of glasses, he continued his job...for now.

Their answers were within her expectations. She nodded as she listened to them both intently, maintaining solid eye contact as the both of them spoke. She smiled softly at the mention of it being a little on the dull side. That was an understatement. But then again, when involved in the world of the rich and famous, most gatherings of this nature were meant to be like this. [break][break]

It was intentional, a way to flaunt money without doing so in an obvious and demeaning way. You could see it in the way they held themselves, in how they dressed. How they lingered at certain paintings. It was just a typical bragging ground, charity be dammed. All notes of arrogance would be hidden under the umbrella that this was all for a good cause, so there should be no hard feelings. [break][break]

"W-well, maybe its just my age...I'll be going now..." the server boy stammered but before he could leave Rosalie swiftly plucked another flute of champagned from his tray to replace her now empty glass. The boy was gone just as quickly as he had arrived, she wondered if he was embarrassed. A soft chuckle escaped her lips before she turned towards the woman beside her. "So, what's a beautiful woman like yourself doing at such a dull event?" Rosalie asked smoothly before taking a sip from her glass.

Keenan Toral described it well: stale. These events were quite stale. Toni took no offence to his remarks. If she wasn’t bred and primed for things like this, she likely wouldn’t stay either. Unfortunately, there was a sense of ‘duty’ that was instilled into her at a young age and that duty meant bearing through it for the ‘greater cause’. In most cases, it wasn’t the charity. Instead, it was the publicity and recognition.

Before Keenan Toral can get too far, she gently touches his arm and offers him a little smile, “If you fill up that tray with some good champagne and come back this way, I’ll make us worth your attention,” A tip, she’d give him a big fat tip. The astute heiress noticed the ease at which her lovely companion was finishing her champagne and she didn’t want either of their glass to go empty for too long.

Rosalie consumed Toni’s full attention with the flattering remark. An amused smile, soft and appreciative curled across her dark red lips, “Only with the hopes of meeting a beautiful woman like yourself,” shameless, she sips champagne, “I donated a piece. Would you like to see it?”

Keenan nodded before going back. After a more experienced server laughed and patted him on the back, his new comrade showed him some of the more expensive and better tasting champagne. It was a good way to get tips and not make this charity event. After doing so, and filling his tray, he started with a small, but loud group. Then a husband and wife. Then he swung around to the ladies he was conversing with earlier, heading towards another part of the auction. Seemed like they had gotten on with each other. Well, that was nice...if only he had someone like that. Kee slowly worked his way back to them with a few flutes remaining. When he got to them, he offered a new flute for both of them...although some minor disturbance was sounding in the back room all of a sudden. They were all quite close to it, but nothing could be made out on what was happening yet. Kee reached in his pocket and fingered a pokeball...just in case...
