Gunner is a spy for the Hoennian government. He works in the field, operating under a civilian cover. Though he specializes in foreign affairs, in recent years, he has worked in domestic security. Possessing a strong sense of duty, he is loyal to the state and justifies any atrocities he commits as carried out for the good of the region. Personality-wise, he takes everything seriously, is passionate about his interests, and generally lacks a sense of humor. • Gunner was born and raised in Fallarbor Town, Hoenn.
• He is the younger brother of GIDEON GRAVES.
• Gunner graduated from Slateport University with a Bachelor's degree in political science. Afterward, he attended Slateport University's Law School for three years. He graduated with a Juris Doctor degree but never took the bar exam.
• His first job was as a foreign affairs analyst for the Department of Defense. Part of his work required him to move to Celadon City, Kanto. He lived there from 2016 to 2017.
• While in Celadon, Gunner dated a Kantonese woman named SAYORI YAMADA.
• After the Kanto War, Gunner quit his analyst job and began work as a paralegal for Wesson & Sons in Slateport.
• He currently lives in Slateport City Upper District.

• Gunner suffers from PTSD as a result of Sayori's death during the Kanto War. He had been evacuated back to Hoenn days prior and was on the phone with her when she died in a train station bombing.
• After Team Rocket's takeover of Kanto, Gunner was hired as a spy by the Hoenn Bureau of Intelligence and Counterterrorism (HBIC). His paralegal work is a cover for his real job.
• As a Hoennian special agent, he has completed missions in Sinnoh, Paldea, Galar, and Kalos.
• In April 2023, Gunner participated in the Battle of Dewford.
• In June 2023, he participated in the battle at the Ancient Tomb.
