Oh. Right. Lots of wine. Eva follows suit and finishes her glass of the wine shortly after Matias. She allows him to refill it as she wipes a stray drop from the corner of her mouth.

“Skinny dipping?” she doesn’t seem too thrilled by the idea of it. She wouldn’t say no but, “We’ve done that,” she smirks, fond memories blossoming over the forefront of her mind.

“Hmmm,” Eva thinks for a moment, her gaze drifting over the rest of the room. What was left to do in Hoenn that they haven’t already done?

“Ooooo isn’t there that huuuuuge cliff over on the other side of the city? Like just off the beach?” it’s hard to get to and typically patrolled by some rangers to make sure stupid kids didn’t get hurt. They aren’t stupid kids though, “We should jump off that, isn’t it like 20 meters or something?” sounded kind of reckless and stupid.

he remembers it fondly as well, smiling behind the rim of his wine glass as he takes another long sip. for someone so used to hard liquor, the softer flavors of red wine make it much easier to drink.[break][break]

cliff diving sounds like a thrill. but then again, they've free fallen from above the clouds, so what is jumping off a cliff compared to that?[break][break]

"shit, you're right. let's do that."[break][break]

the fun is in making their way through security.[break][break]

"right after we finish this bottle?"

Eva had similar thoughts. What is a short fall from a cliff compared to free falling through the sky n a lightning storm? They have certainly had quite a number of adventures together. What new is left for them to try?

There are a few things, but none meant for a spontaneous, drunken night.

“Alright!” she take a long sip of the wine as well. It goes down without petition, a little too easily, “Yeah, it would be a shame to waste it,” she grins, “In the meantime,” she takes another quick sip, “Truth or dare?”

Jumping worlds. Now that’s exciting. It’s dangerous, but now would be the time to do it with the world almost ending anyway. Later. They’d have a lifetime of adventures to pursue.

“Truth?” she repeated, biting her lip, she thought he’d pick dare, for sure. Now she has to think of something good to ask.

Eva’s face scrunches in thought as she takes another sip of wine, “Ok!” she leans into the bar, “If you had a kid, what would you hope for? Boy or girl?”

matias is expecting a more difficult question so his answer comes easily. though, to be fair, there is very little that is left unsaid between them, so maybe picking truth was a cop-out.[break][break]

"oh. boy! a hundred percent."[break][break]

a boy would just be easier for him to raise. a little mini matias riding around on virizion fighting bad guys. that would be cute.[break][break]

"i think you'd want a girl, right?"

Hm, just want Hoenn needed, another little Matias running around atop Virizion. That would be hella cute though, Eva wouldn’t deny that.

Eva scrunches her face and shakes her head, “Nooooo, I think I’d prefer a boy,” she was raised with brothers and by a widowed father. She was raised like a boy so that’s all she knows. Honestly, she wouldn’t know what to do with a girl.

spoken as though he has any control over whether or not they have a boy or girl. if they even decide to have one. with the state hoenn is in, he's just not sure.[break][break]

Eva laughs, whole heartedly, shaking her head as she sets the wine glass back down on the bar top, “Just like that, huh?” she snaps her fingers for emphasis. She knows he’s joking, neither of them have any say it the matter. And to even think about bringing a child into the world now would be irresponsible and reckless. It was barely safe enough of them, two (somewhat) functioning adults.

But it’s fun to dream.

“I don’t know. I’ve never thought about it,” she finishes off the last of her glass, pushing it towards Matias to ask for a refill,

That’s a lie. She’s thought about it in passing, mostly. A big family. But that’s all it’s ever been – a dream. Now that there’s some reality tethered to it, it’s actually a bit scary to think about. But fear is numbed by the slow-growing warmth of the buzz from the wine.

“Maybe something like . . . Eli.”

it would definitely be wildly irresponsible to bring a life into the world in its current state. in another region, perhaps, but not hoenn. maybe when this is all over and they've achieved what they wanted, then they could look at starting a family.[break][break]

"how about gio? short for giovanni?"

Eva hums as she pours herself another glass of the red wine, “Hmmm Giovanni Morales-Silph,” she repeats, nodding her head slowly, “Gio is really cute, yeah,” she likes it. Elias, Giovanni; she’ll tuck them away for later if they need them.

Eva does a 180, and completely changes the subject as curiosity bubbles to the surface, “I’ve been wondering, how is Virizion taking the whole . . . Groudon thing? Do they get along?” Eva doesn’t imagine Groudon as the jealous type but Virizion could be finicky.

matias doesn't mind the one-eighty. it's something he's been wanting to talk about as well but has never remembered to.[break][break]

he finishes pouring them more wine. by now, the bottle's drained down to just below half.[break][break]

"they don't necessarily get along but i think it's just because of groudon's capability to destroy. it doesn't value life the same way the swords do."

Eva’s lips curl into a small smile, ”Thanks!” she hums quietly before drawing the now full glass back towards her. She takes another sip as she listens to Matias’s explanation. She believes ‘interesting’ is an understatement.

“Hmmm, I could see that,” she agrees, thinking it over in her head. Admittedly, she doesn’t know Groudon well. She met the titan once shortly after Matias brought it back from Desolate!Hoenn. From her experience with it on Mt. Chimney, she understands where the concern lies in the eyes of Virizion.

Eva asks the hard question she’s sure Matias had thought about, “Do you think it will affect its decision to stay?” Eva can’t imagine the Sword of Justice with anyone else. In her eyes, no one is as worthy as Matias.
