Gideon's meticulousness would be the death of him.

Instead of simply having a few recently excavated fossils shipped to the museum, he insisted on being the main point of contact for their transport. Perhaps because of their archeological value - these pieces were huge and possibly representative of a yet discovered species of Pokémon - or because the professor did not trust laymen to do the job properly.

Whatever the case, GIDEON GRAVES was here, voyaging across the ocean.

Now, he normally wore contact lenses, but the briny sea air caused enough irritation that Gideon was forced to bring out his tried-and-true square-rimmed glasses. He adjusted them now while peering over the railing of skyler dross's ship. They'd already traveled quite a ways and, if he was correct, were approaching their destination now. Surely the sliver of land on the horizon was the island they were looking for.

"Are we close?" He called back to the ship's captain, leaning over his shoulder to make eye contact with her at the helm.

Skyler's relationships with museums was a complicated one. While you wouldn't usually catch her dead inside one, she'd traversed their halls often enough to feel a sort of familiarity with the carefully curated exhibits and quiet halls.

Growing up the sole child of two dedicated historians - employed by the Lilycove Museum - had provided Skyler with plenty of opportunities to study the region's peculiar history and mythology. Unfortunately, Skyler and academics had never really seen eye to eye despite her parents' endless attempts.

What it had provided her was a rich network of contacts and, thus, prospective clients. She made a point to donate some of her findings to the regional museums, which nearly made up for those that wouldn't see the light of day, or the general populace. It had also, apparently, landed her this job.

"Not long now. Ten more minutes, Professor." Skyler's professionalism is a thin veil over a persistent curiosity as she looks the man over. Words like 'serious' and 'efficient' come to mind, though he seems to lack the disproportional ego that often goes hand-in-hand with a certain measure of success.

She could still be proved wrong. Was counting on it, in fact.

The engine rumbles under their feet as they approach, the island's silhouette blooming into verdant greens and the pale gold of a deserted beach. "Is the excavation team on site, or are we doing this solo?"

Their appraisals went both ways, it seemed. While she formed her own opinions of him, the professor did the same of skyler dross. In their few hours together he'd already started a mental note on his thoughts concerning the seafaring captain. There he catalouged several decriptors:

Professional. Self-assured. In her element. As of now, Gideon was impressed with the service she had provided thus far.

Then again, they were just about to get to their main objective. Things could change.

"Yes," Gideon replied above the din of the ocean. "The excavation team will be on-site to help transfer the specimens to the ship."

He paused, adjusting his stance and folding his arms behind his back.

"These particular fossils have been reported to weigh several tons. I'm sure there will be Psychic-type Pokémon present to ease the burden of transport."
