Katherine Fairburne seems more interested in Cillian Quinn than Temp himself. He would almost be insulted if he didn't already know how cool and awesome that his husband was.

The shadows creeps closer and Temp isn't frightened. That may because of stupidity, ignorance, or even that his own regular proximity to Lugia has made being around gods less than exciting for him. Either way, Temp just raises both his hands to his mouth while Katherine speaks around him and whistles loud and sharp.

Flare barks, paws crunching over Toxic Spike. The pokemon only winces before opening his mouth and letting his own Smog cover the battlefield. The Ice Wind bites back but the fluffy coated Flareon just shakes it off.

Temp less so. He shivers from the chill, unused to icy weather.

"Who cares why we're here? Fight us!"

Katherine Fairburne is brutal. This much is proved true by the attempt on Temp's life.

But the attack doesn't reach him.

Instead, blood splatters the former Gym Leader. His Flareon had leaped into action, loving his Trainer more than his own life; it falls, limp and lifeless on the ground.

A shiver of fear shoots up his spine, icy and hot at the same time. There is a moment he feels doubt. That maybe Cillian Quinn was right to try and shoo him away.

That is quickly erased as anger takes over.

His Flareon's corpse is called back into a pokeball for later. Temp doesn't have a god's power like the E4 member or his husband. He will still need his pokemon.

Another pokemon released. The Zarude hits the ground hard, baring teeth at the alien pokemon. He shrieks out a vicious howl and tries to grapple the cockroach ultra beast to Thrash her around.

Temp snarls equally as vicious at Katherine. It she wasn't out of reach he would try and bust her nose.

"You'll fucking pay for that, you blowfly filled cunt!"

Bongo shrieks in pure fury at his quarry escaping him. The powerful strike leaves blood seeping out of his fur and onto the ground. Regardless of his terrible wounds, the ape pokemon was built from rage. He would not stop fighting until he died if left to his own devices.

Temp wasn't allowing that.

The weird Cofargrius was odd; at the same time, he wasn't an expert on the species to start.

The more pressing matter was the clash of Lugia and Giratina above. Temp scowled, silently cursing he hadn't brought a pokemon that could provide more sky-based utility.

Yet, he wasn't useless. See, Katherine Fairburne had the right idea by trying to take him out first for more reasons than she knew. As with any JRPG boss battle, you always took out the healers first.

"Bongo! Heal!"

The Zarude's nostrils flared at the Cofagirus. But, all he ended up doing was howling a loud and haunting tune. A Jungle Healing that caused an ethereal green glow to overtake the ape. The worst of the previous wounds scabbed over under his fur; still sore but not open like before.

This glow included Cillian Quinn and Lugia in it's glow. The sudden boost of vitality that both of them were sure to appreciate.

Luvdisc on golden rings kiss. He clasps Cillian Quinn's hand tight and let's the other haul him onto Lugia's back. He is quick to call Bongo back into his pokeball before they're too far away. Being on Lugia is a thrill; despite all the snacks he gave her, how he helped preen her scales, and scraped barnacles off her belly the shadowed legend wasn't the most fond of him...

Oh well. She didn't eat him and that was good enough.

"We should get out of here!" Temp yells over the wind.

Being in the air makes him sick, he was a sea dweller at heart, but the adrenaline of the fight keeps him on his toes. Instead of doing the safe thing and clinging to his husband, Temp squeezes tight with his legs and twists around to face Lugia's tail. Another pokeball is grabbed from his hip and pokemon released.

A Vaporeon is grabbed before she can fall off. Temp holds her under his arm, aiming her like a machine gun, then: "MUDDY WATER!"

In a stroke of comedy genius, the Vaporeon opens her mouth and a flood of sludgy, brown water shoots out. It is only loosely aimed; with luck the torrent would keep both Giratina and Katherine Fairburne's other odd pokemon away long enough for them to escape.

Temp doesn't answer Cillian Quinn with words but with actions. When the flood from his dog-gun peters out, he gives the Vaporeon a little squeeze. This is both to reassure her and to encourage her to do as asked. A Haze.

A the chillest gas pours from her mouth, filling the immediate area like a cooling balm. Unlike what might be expected, because pokemon is fucking weird, this balm would help all the pokemon, including Katherine Fairburne's, shed any status reductions. Yet, also, it would inhibit any status gains.

"Holy shit!" Giratina appears above them and Temp flattens himself out the best he can. His fingers dig into Lugia's scales to keep grip; he'll have to apologize to her later for this.
