After studying the Combee that he had captured thoroughly he had narrowed down roughly where the hive would be. However today was going to be far trickier as the weather was not as clear as it had been before. Instead of a hot sunny day, he was greeted with a raging thunderstorm, and he had to frown. His suit was equipped to deal with mild weather, but this was ridiculous. It also meant that using Ogun to fight the bug types again wasn't going to be as effective due to the weather. He had a variety of Pokemon, and some functioned well in the rain, so he'd have to use one of them instead.

For the moment he waited underneath the cover of a tree for his associate to arrive. The one that had helped him claim his first test subjects, but today's mission was going to be a bit different. They were going to attack the hive directly, and despite the weather not agreeing with them, the sooner they acted the better it would be. This was only the second such hive he had encountered, and that meant he wouldn't run out of test subjects any time soon. However it did mean that the possibility of primal energy infecting more pokemon rose.

He wanted to know how they came into contact with the volatile source of power to begin with. So he was scanning his notes as he waited for Cillian Quinn to arrive. Of course he had let him know the weather was not as nice as it had been previously.

Where Amor Rose dreads the weather, Gavin feels at home in the downpour. He lets the wind tear at his hair and the rain soak his skin, absorbing the very essence of the thunderstorm. He'd always enjoyed them; Lugia's blessing has only increased his appreciation.[break][break]

An eerie portal summoned PHANTOM FORCE opens along the route, and Gavin steps out before those shadows coalesce into Dhelmise's ominous silhouette[break][break]

At the other mans words he simply nodded.

"I have, and after some preliminary scouting, we're going to have to fight our way to it. I have confirmed the existence of multiple Vespiqueen that seem to be controlling the horde together. It's going to be far less pleasant than last time. Though once we are at the hive, it'll be a somewhat simple matter." This time was different because he was prioritizing getting the hive rather than acquiring specimens. So he was going to blast his way through their opposition. For that he had the perfect Pokemon ready.

So he summoned his Dracozolt, with it's new odd coloration.

"While we could sneak past the horde, the moment we get to the queens, we'd be surrounded, so if it's all the same to you, I vote we attack the army at the start?" If Gavin had a better plan he'd listen to it easily, but he was prepared to leave a wake of chaos in his steps.

Gavin cared more for results than specific methodology. Had Amor professed intent to stealthily infiltrate the hive and attempt to harm none of the specimens within, Gavin would have just as easily offered consent. His skillset is varied after years of following Rocket's orders wherever they should lead... but offense is his speciality.

His question was an interesting one, did he suspect the League would interfere? That would depend on if they had been tracking him this entire time, or if they had been investigating these hives as well, and stumbled upon the same one that they had. The answer was both yes, and no.

"I think if the League is competent to any degree they should be surveying these hives as well. Whether they find this hive alongside us or not I can't say for certain, but we should proceed with the expectation that the unexpected could happen. If that makes any sense?" He wasn't trying to be confusing, but he hadn't survived this long by taking unnecessary risks. If there was a five percent chance that the League may show up, he would prepare accordingly. Some may call that paranoia, he just preferred it called being well prepared.

The smirk wasn't lost on him, and while he had heard stories of the underbosses brutality he had yet to actually witness it first hand himself. Amor had a myriad of files on individuals from the League, but he had yet to make any on Rocket yet because he had not spent as much time with them yet. There wasn't enough intel, but perhaps Gavin would be his first one.

"Did you have a special plan in case they did show up?"

There would be nothing quite so obvious as Shadow Lugia to draw the League's eye if they were anywhere near, after all. Her hurricane winds would've proved a powerful counter to the aggressive insects, but it was not worth the risk of being caught out.[break][break]

In place of his legendary patron, Gavin relies upon the aid of a shiny Cloyster that SMASHES ITS SHELL upon emerging from the pokeball.[break][break]

His smirk perhaps suggests what he'd previously been thinking.

There was some internal disappointment, but it was probably for the best that they continue on as they were. When he released his Cloyster, Amor summoned his own pokemon. Today he would be using his Dragapult. it would make things much easier as it didn't care about the rain as much as it's brethren.

"Then that works for me. Let us begin." He nodded to his companion, and then Zahak burst into the forest as quickly as it could to draw as much attention to itself as it could. This would go much easier the more attention he could garner. The first strike was the most important, and as all the Combee were coming out to protect their hive. The Dragapult unleashed a massive Thunderbolt that would take advantage of the wet nature of their opponents from this horrible downpour.

Amor didn't wait for Cillian Quinn nor did he expect the other man to expect him to wait, before he rushed forward to catch up with his Pokemon, as bolts of electricity shot off in each direction.

There were going to be many more enemies so he was curious to see what sort of tactics the Underboss employed.

Gavin is just as quick, his Dhelmise vanishing with a PHANTOM FORCE only to ALLY SWITCH and bring the underboss into the heat of the battle. Miasma swirls around him and his Cloyster both, and he whistles to draw the clam's attention.

With a click of Gavin's tongue, the Cloyster's SKILL LINKED ICICLE SPEAR fires off like a rail gun, spikes of ice spearing their foes. It keeps that up as Dhelmise emerges from another shadowy portal, a WHIRLPOOL drawing in more of the foe.

Gavin himself focuses on evasion as his Pokemon keep up the offense, using the boost of speed and reflex provided by the miasma to avoid being stung by the swarm. He's smirking as he does it, clearly enjoying the rush.

Between the two of them the bombardment of the enemy was going relatively well, and with each step they took progress was steadily made. Between his Dragapult, and Gavin's Cloyster they were making short work of the swarms that were threatening them. While it was less effective due to the intense rain, Dragapult had begun employing Flamethrower when they wandered to close, and it was up ahead that Amor saw their goal.

With the droves of enemies getting less, and less this was either a trap, or their destination. He desperately hoped that it was only the end of their trek, but his guard was up.

"I believe that their hive is up ahead." He said through the robotic voice changer. When he got to the edge he saw several Vespiqueen with an unnatural glow around their bodies, and hordes of Combee on standby pointing in their direction as if they were waiting for this all along. "And they are waiting for us...." He said with a mirthless laugh.
