As per usual, the Dragapult stays as close to him as possible. This time, it gently nudges his back with its head, again and again and again…

He pauses, and when he does, so does the dragon. Xanthos tilts its head, causing the Dreepy that dwell in its horns to tilt as well. Mars won’t say it, but it’s admittedly kind of endearing.

Despite the unspoken reasons for the command, the Dragapult seems pleased, rapidly wagging the tip of its spectral tail as if it were a silent rattle and moving forward – ahead of its trainer.

For some reason, Xanthos decides to hiss at a tree, and Mars has to pause to figure out what the hell is going on with him. It takes him a second to remember what kind of pokémon the Safari’s warden had decided to put around this area this time.

He remembers when he gets a good look at the tree.

It’s there: camouflaged.
[break][break]
A single whistled note tells the Dragapult all it needs to know. Within a second, DRAGON DARTS shoot out towards the tree, intending on dealing with the wild Kecleon. Once it’s gone, Mars keeps on walking as if nothing had just happened.

He knows the next area to be full of Mankey, and he also knows he has no particular need for another one of them. Such being the case, Mars strategically decides to avoid the bellicose monkey pokémon, even going as far as swerving away from the path they had been following.

Then there’s the click of Mars’ tongue, and without hesitation, Xanthos jumps to action.

The dragon darts through the air, a powerful FIRE BLAST hitting the Klefki. Kind of overkill, yeah, but it gets the job done, doesn’t it?

The click of a Safari Ball announces the Klink’s capture, and it’s with incredible gentleness that the Dragapult picks it up from the ground. He drops it in his trainer’s palm, and after it has been minimised and clipped to his belt, Mars pats the dragon.

A Cubchoo comes next.

It’s only a few minutes of walking before they encounter it: alone, this time, it’s playmates being nowhere to be seen. It clearly means no harm and they could just let it be, but after looking through his pokémon storage app, Mars sighs. He still doesn’t have a Beartic.

Once again, it’s with flames that the Dragapult attacks.

The Cubchoo tries to run, but it’s not fast enough.

Their potential use is obvious, so as they keep on walking, Mars keeps an eye out for the next pokémon. His Dragapult does as much too, and it’s Xanthos that spots the thankfully-sleeping Jigglypuff.

It’s easy enough to go after it when it can’t sing and put his pokémon to sleep.
[break][break]
All it takes is one command and Xanthos darts forward, readying an attack while Mars himself readies a Safari Ball.
[break][break]
It's an INFESTATION that soon surrounds the Jigglypuff, waking it in too much of a shock and panic for it to do anything about it.
