by the time matias catches up to his mimikyu, it's far too late to stop it from engaging with a wild sandshrew. he can't even tell that it's shiny because it looks almost identical to its usual form, so he thinks nothing of it. simply watches his mimikyu fight.[break][break]

SHADOW CLAW rakes across its cool body, and though it curls into a RAPID SPIN, mimikyu sticks close to it and finishes it off with a WOOD HAMMER.[break][break]

the MINIMIZED staryu would've been missed had it not been for mimikyu's ILLUMINATE. to further bring it into the light, mimikyu casts a SPOTLIGHT on it.[break][break]

the staryu hisses, wraping a PSYCHIC around the ghost-type only for a safari ball to interrupt it.[break][break]

"saved you there."[break][break]

once again, matias is the good guy.[break][break]

the mimikyu doesn't even bother responding to that as it just slinks off into the shadows.

the mareep flinches away from mimikyu's SHADOW CLAW which is what sets up the safari ball. it consumes the electric-type with ease, sucking it in and capturing it.[break][break]

the sight of TOXIC SPIKES scattered across the ground is an interesting one. it means whatever set it up must be close by, or at the very least close enough to be ready to spring into action for an ambush.[break][break]

mimikyu slinks forward, wandering through the tall grass before being met with a RAPID SPIN. it does little to no damage, leaving mimikyu more confused than anything.[break][break]

finally, they come across a delibird, the sight of which reminds him instantly of Locke Jamison. they've not spoken much recently though on matias' side it's only due to his packed schedule with the world ending. he may have to arrange a catch-up soon.[break][break]

delibird's ICE SPINNER kicks the battle off. mimikyu responds with a SHADOW CLAW, dragging it across the bird's sack. it's almost christmas time so surely there are gifts in there![break][break]
