She was exploring the forest, looking for more pokemon from Paldea as she was never able to really get her hands on any up until this point. She really liked smolive a lot, it's face was small and skrunkly. [break][break]

Plus when it evolved she'd be able to easily secure a lot of fresh olive oil...and turn her already paldean styled home into an even more paldean styled one if she had an arboliva just hanging out. [break][break]

yet she never expected to run into Martín del Mar here of all people.

He too is searching, because of course he is. How could he pass on the chance to get his hands on some nice Paldean pokémon? Despite his family originally being from the region, the last time Mars had actually visited Paldea had been way too long ago…

This forest isn’t quite like those in Paldea, but it’s calmly that Mars walks among trees, as if he were enjoying a nice afternoon stroll in the wilderness. If only he actually had time for such leisurely activities without ulterior motives.

Of course, a Persian walks by his side, and it’s this Persian that spots Melody first; walking over to her and giving a deep prusten as its way to say ‘Hi’.

She crossed her arms and pouted. "I don't have a nickname for you! Not fair!" she says jokingly. [break][break]

It was then that a trevenant decided to invade their space and tried to swipe at her. She moves out of the way in time "Pesky weedy!" she says dropping a pokeball and releasing a meowscarda to fight it. "Shadow ball! Then acrobatics!" she ordered as the ghostly energy sent the pokemon flying into the air and Meowscarda leaps after it and unleashes a combo attack on it. [break][break]

It lands with a thunk onto the floor fainted as Meowscarda landed with a flourish and began to lick it's arm clean. She tosses a pokeball at the tree and tries to capture it. she stares at the pokeball "Weird it just attacked me out of nowhere." [break][break]

"But yeah. I want a nickname for you!"

Melody whines, and in response, Mars laughs, because of course she’d whine about that.

He’s about to respond when the Trevenant attacks, and while he could easily order Dollar to help Melody out, her Meowscarada seems to have the situation more than handled. So, instead, Mars lets his Persian fixate its attention on a rising pile of dirt.

When Dollar pounces, the pile of dirt turns out to be a Bunnelby, and it’s of course easily caught by the feline. No issue at all. But, cats do love to play with their food…

”Maybe it doesn’t like pink.” Mars offers as reasoning for the Trevenant’s attack, still smirking, and just like that, he chucks a Luxury Ball towards the Bunnelby before Dollar keeps chasing it around.

”So, what’s my nickname, then? Mars is already one, technically.”

Yes and no, considering that most people who know him personally call him that instead of Martín.

"Nope! Mars doesn't count." she counts. [break][break]

"Everyone probably calls you that right?" she wonders as she hadn't really interacted with mars in a group setting but that was such an easy nickname to make for someone named Martin [break][break]

A delcatty pops up randomly and began to attack Melody too. "IS IT REALLY MY PINK HAIR?!" she says dodging the Pokémon's move fluidly, as if she was dancing around them all. "Meowscarda!" she calls out as the cat performer dashes forward, firing a chilling water onto the cat to ruin it's SINGING performance as it cried out from the freezing water. It growled at the fellow cat and leapt forward, releasing it's claws to try and swipe at the weed cat. [break][break]

The meowscarda then dashes over and uses NIGHT SLASH, scoring a critical hit on the pokemon and making it faint with it's second attack. "Jesus christ..." she said taking note of how Gwyar Wledig and Cobalion's training was making her faster and more reactive. [break][break]

She tosses a pokeball at mars "Anyways, that's too basic of a name. It's just like your last name with an S. That's like people calling me miros..." she says pondering. "Mars...marteenie..del..." as she tries to drum up ideas. Martini would be funny if he liked martinis.

When the Delcatty attacks, he watches her, and the fluid motion with which she avoids it is not missed. Apparently, Melody has been doing some serious training. Honestly, good for her, but it’s also rather problematic for him, isn’t it? He decides not to comment on it, instead acting as if he’s distracted by their conversation about nicknames.

”Hmm… Don’t think I like Mirós as much as Melita.” It does have a better ring to it. Mars doesn’t bother with explaining the actual reason behind his nickname, which has nothing to do with the Del Mar surname. ”Martini? I do like those, though I prefer to drink my gin straight. It’s my go-to.”

A cradily wiggled it's way over as Mars and Melody continued to chitchat like two silly little billies. [break][break]

However it seemed this one INDEED liked her pink hair. It began to sniff on her hair and the suddenly began to suck on it gently. It was long enough for her to turn around and looked at it. Why were so many Pokémon being so weird and strange in this area?[break][break]

She turns to continue talking to mars "Then it's settled. You're nickname ONLY I CAN USE!!" she said emphasizing it suddenly as the cradily behind her was suddenly spooked by the increase in volume and released her hair from it's hidden maw. "Is Martini..or with the accent. It's hard for me to say it sometimes." she says nodding her head as suddenly cradily was mimicking the head bobbing too. It seemed to really enjoy Melody's presence and especially trying to suck out the moisture from her hair. Which was fair she had just washed it that morning...maybe it was the berry taste it left in her hair. [break][break]

She throws a pokeball at the cradily in an attempt to capture it. Eventually after the ball succesfully captures the cradily, she rereleases it and it nuzzles up to her, wrapping itself around her and nuzzling her over and over.."Aw...it's really cute.." she says nuzzling it back and petting it on the back of it's head.

Once again deciding not to intervene with pokémon’s apparent fascination for Melody’s pink hair, Mars chuckles while watching a Cradily grab a strand and bite it. At least it looks like Melody doesn’t mind it all that much, which he sure as hell can’t relate to, because he would never want pokémon saliva on his hair, thank you very much.
