  With the second voice ‘absent’ from his consciousness, he knew that the other Pokémon had asked for time to recover from that disaster—however, however— It had been several weeks already and there was no sign. He knew how… ‘hands-off’ the Mirage was, and so decided to leave the Shoal Cave alone, for now. But even then he was getting worried about how long it was taking for the other to contact him again. Huh. Several weeks had passed since… since then. Since the time the meteor almost beaned the region and sent them into Armageddon. (Thank fuck that Rayquaza, wanderer of the heavens, had stopped it, but still.) An exhibition match against a mystery opponent, so he figured—why not come out with one of the best—his most-known non-legendary companion. Too soon, the speakers overhead grated, whirring and clicking before coming to life and crackling with feedback that lasted all of 0.5 seconds before a gravelly voice announced the ‘next match’ of the day… |

 He cringed as the feedback squealed temporarily after the loud, raucous announcer got their shit together and he walked out onto the arena and— “Oho.” The look on his face changed to the same ol’ chipper knowing smirk. “I see Chomper’s ready.” With one click, the battered Heavy Ball spun to full-size before the hulking, shining silver beast appeared on his side of the arena. The grating noise that escaped Ro the Metagross was one for the ages, too. “And he’s ready too. Let’s go!” |

At the same time the three heads roared, the Metagross merely ‘grinned’ (if that was even a thing) before merely relaxing his legs—before a slight pinging noise—at least one Lars would recognize, at least—would cue him in that the shining silver beast had already used Agility and was getting ready to charge forward. “Since you mentioned that—then I’ll do the same, no holding back at all,” he continued with this mysterious grin on his face. Now it was just the waiting game of who would approach first—and since Hydreigon were part-Dark, that meant all of the Metagross’s Psychic-type moves were off the table… for now. |

All Ro needed to wait for was for Chomper to get close enough, and take the hit, before— The Metagross needed no command—as it braced himself before swinging up one of his fore arms in a slugging Meteor Mash move, intent on knocking the Hydreigon away. Because even if he didn’t flinch that much, those fangs were fucking sharp! |

Never mind if it took the Fire Fang in stride (despite grumbling in protest because fire bad, that hurt) he just needed to approach the Hydreigon again and let loose with a Bullet Punch. Apparently, Ro’s mantra of hitting shit was, ‘get up close and then smack it as hard as possible’… which was the case for the Hydreigon because Psychic was off the table, at least for now! |

 The Metagross let out a noise of distress as the fangs were starting to break through the thick, metallic skin causing him to falter—but not for long. “Time to bring the big guns out,” was all he would say quietly on his side of the arena as he then held out his right hand and flashed the Mega Stone embedded in a ring he frequently wore on his right index finger before he tapped it. In a few short moments, this would happen…  An explosion of light would erupt from the hulking silver beast’s body as he would transform—into his Mega-evolved form. And then right out of the gate retaliate with a second Meteor Mash attack, seeing as he was within close range of the Hydreigon that had landed the earlier attack on him. (1 / 3) |

This—this was going to be a risky maneuver, but what else could they do at this point in time?! “Ro, release!” was what he would say next—he was allowing the shining silver beast to use the other two moves that were ‘locked away’ due to the slight type disadvantage. And not a moment too soon! The first whistling noise was the warning they had, before the object impacted the arena grounds. A grating squeal similar to dial-up noises came from the hulking beast’s maw afterward. Rather than use the next move offensively, it was more— A burst of Telekinetic energy came rippling into existence; while it would stave off most of the incoming damage, there would still be hits here and there. Lars noticed that Ro’s legs were digging into the arena floor—a sign they had to end this, and soon! (2 / 3) |
