So, that's what he was planning! The Hydreigon was completely blindsided by the lightning fast Bullet Punch that included some of the Draco Meteor debris. Hoisted by his own petard, the prideful dragon fell to the ground with earth-shattering impact, his body bruised heavily.

"C-Chomper, no!"

Moved by his trainer's distraught cries, Chomper willed his battered form up with great difficulty, shaking debris off his back. He winced in pain, looking back at her... That distraught look did not suit her. She looked much prettier when she smiled. He WOULD make her smile again!

Andrea's Z-Ring suddenly radiated with power. "Chomper... You can still fight?!" Her partner nodded at her, and she nodded back. "Alright, but this will probably be our last move, so let's put our all into it! BLACK HOLE ECLIPSE!" The young woman shouted at the top of her lungs.



The Hydreigon's body was enveloped in golden energy. A massive orb of swirling darkness was fired above Ro, swallowing up the leftover debris and even the Mega Metagross itself with its obscenely high gravitational pull. The black mass shrunk momentarily, before exploding with overwhelming physicality.

"What a tremendous Z-Move from Chonker! You'll only see it here, folks!"

"His name is Chomper!" Andrea politely corrected the announcer, her lips curving into a bright smile. "His name is Chomper and I love him!"

That smile was all he needed to see... Chomper considered his job done, but his worthy rival had one last hurrah to give, charging at him with a last-ditch Meteor Mash. The three-headed dragon met Ro's metallic fist with one last Crunch, ol' reliable.

If PP was even a thing in this setting, he was definitely running out of it by now.

The audience had gone so silent that one could hear a pin drop in the middle of the arena... or in this case a giant hunk of metal. The Metagross fell, and the crowd went wild, a standing ovation given in honor of the victor.

"And Andrea Vaneau is the winner! What an incredible performance from both trainers! Only the League can produce talent like that!"

"Yay! We did it, Chomper!" The trainer of dragons ran up to her lifelong partner and gave him a big, emotional hug, the Hydreigon's three heads vying for her affection. She made sure to give them all pets and forehead kisses like they deserved. For Chomper, that was an even greater reward than the crowd's approval. Being the people's champ for a day was nice, but he much preferred being Andrea's champ for life.

Following the tender moment between a girl and her dragon, Lars congratulated the tight-knit duo. "Thanks, Mr. Lars! You and Ro were amazing too!" Andrea replied, walking up to the head ranger and offering her hand for a shake. "Although the next time we battle, we could do with a little less people." She jested, still alienated by the highly publicized nature of this event.
