winter was cold in hoenn — or apparently, it was this year. he sent a text message to Laurence Anderson, asking what he was doing for the holidays, and what was the best way to keep yourself warm.

[break][break] ollie wears a winter coat that Eva Morales bought him a week ago ("you can't be getting sick") and a scarf that willow atkins forced on him as he thumbs his phone, opening up his last text from Melody Miro. it brings a smile to his face — the sight of the picture of a relicanth that she sent him. just as she said, it has a little dopey smile carved into his face.

[break][break] he sighs, and wishes things could be simpler.

[break][break] marshmellow and tofu run into the snow ahead of him, chasing each other excitedly into the park.

they run across the sandshrew making ICE BALLS in the snow.

[break][break] tofu squeaks with alarm, skidding to a stop, before he crashes into the creation. ollie's zangoose doesn't even bother, barreling straight into it, to which the wild pokemon lets out a cry of rage and then alarm. angrily, a NIGHT SLASH slams down onto marshmallow.

[break][break] "hey!"

[break][break] but marshmallow can take of himself. he skids to the side, just barely missing it, and retaliates with his own CRUSH CLAW. as they engage in a sparring match, ollie throws a pokeball — better to stop it before it gets out of hand.

as the sandshrew and marshmallow brawl, it seems like they're not the only one on the wintry landscape.

[break][break] in the frozen snow, a shimmering STARYU can be seen. ollie rubs his jaw, trying to figure it out what it is, but tofu runs for the pokemon anyway.

[break][break] the ELECTRO BALL slams into the staryu. although the pokemon attempts to ram up a BRINE, tofu is too fast. he finishes off the blow with DISCHARGE.

straight out of charlie chocolate factory, a mystical beast comes wandering upon the snowy landscape.

[break][break] in front of the absolute cutest MAREEP.

[break][break] ollie grins wide, snapping a picture of the fluffy pink mareep. his first instinct is to text PENELOPE LIVY, before he realizes that she probably wouldn't enjoy a text from him.

[break][break] either way, tofu breaks apart from his brawl with and immediately bounds up to the mareep. the mareep squeaks with surprise and lets out a DAZZLING GLEAM that blinds him, to which tofu follows up with a SWEET KISS to distract the pokemon and allow ollie just enough time to throw a QUICK BALL at it.

[break][break] with a squeak of agreeance, the electric mouse crackles a THUNDER WAVE towards the ice-type before ollie throws a pokeball.
