Not long now, he thinks, until footprints in the sand become a frequently carved path. Until a boat and a seaplane are tethered to a rickety old dock on a more permanent basis, bobbing peacefully in the shelter of a cove their own.

Not long now until the old, rundown beach house is officially theirs.

“Clyde. Buddy. Give us some breathing room here.” Comes a somewhat muffled chuckle as the Dreepy winds under Angelo's chin, rubbing its head against the shadowy bristle of an incoming beard.

Looking for attention when he's busy. As usual.

Crouched down in the sand where he'd been preparing to check underneath the elevated beach house, Angelo relents. As soon as he opens up his jacket, the Dreepy flies in to nestle into the interior pocket.

“Suit yourself,” he sighs, detaching a small flashlight from his belt.

In the beam of his torch, life beneath the abandoned beach house is brought into the light. Small dunes of sand and driftwood revealed to be the home of a couple of Clauncher.

One scuttles towards him, its larger claw jabbing forward in an attempt to turn the pilot's surveillance day into a boxing day.

“Sorry to disturb you, ma'am,” he sarcastically muses, backing up to leave them in peace.

He'd already seen what he needed.

Looks like the kitchen featured a fancy emergency hole to beneath the house. They'd need to fix that up.

Walking around the perimeter of the beach house, Angelo deduces that the hole in the floorboards was the least of their concerns.

Breaks in the roof, overgrown pantries and ocean damaged wood...

They'd set themselves up for a monster of a task.

And yet, as he scratches Clyde's chin when he stands back to look at their new project, Angelo can't help but feel nothing but excitement for it.

Coasting in on the sea breeze from worlds unknown, a bird with a giant wingspan flies overhead. It settles on the roof of the beach house with a merry, presence announcing squawk.

It was only recently that Angelo had learned of this feathered creature, gifted to him by his not-secret-santa. An affinity for the bird's smug expression and different colouration drawing the pilot to pull a pokeball from his belt, taking aim at the Kilowattrel.

He'll take it's arrival as a sign of new beginnings.
