The daycare, a place for Pokémon to relax and enjoy themselves. Formerly owned by an elderly couple, it was acquired a few months ago by billionaire playboy Amor Rose. The change in management was evident from the more visible renovations, such as newly bought equipment, to the more discreet ones, such as newly hired staff and a renewed business model.

But you're not here to learn about boring adult stuff, are you? Let's observe some cute Pokémon!

While most of the other little critters gleefully frolicked about, laughing and playing games with each other, a Shelgon stood on its lonesome by the pond; a lone wolf... err, dragon. Wanting no part in the childish tomfoolery of its contemporaries, it pensively gazed at its own reflection in the water. Ooh, what an edgelord.

While a dragon stands alone, thinking itself too mature and cool to take part in the games other young pokémon play, to the ghost that lurks nearby, it looks like the perfect prey. Sneakily, the blue Shuppet approaches, making sure to always stay towards the Shelgon’s large behind so as to go unnoticed.

What’s its plan? What’s its goal?

Simple enough: it all starts with a couple of pokes, after which the ghost makes itself immaterial, disappearing just in case the Shelgon were to turn out.

Why do that? Does it just want to annoy the other pokémon?

Of course! But, see, it’s not the Shuppet’s fault that its species feeds on emotions like those.

Eeek!

The Shelgon was startled by the sudden physical contact, retracting its stubby legs and rolling on the ground like a big ball. It quickly recovered from the shock and turned around with a worried look, only to see nobody there. Very spoopy.

E-excuse me, I would rather not get pranked.

She was surprisingly soft-spoken for a Dragon type, showing a bit of an introverted side. If she were a human, she would probably be one of those lonely types that stayed cooped up in their room all day long, wrapped up in a blanket, while watching anime and playing video games.

The Shuppet is clearly having a really good time, and thus he moves onto the next stage of his plan! First, he rematerialized behind the scared Shelgon, and then, while unseen, it begins to summon wisps of flame all around them, causing them to levitate unnaturally. WILL-O-WISPS.

The Shelgon was unnerved by the eerie, disembodied laughter, desperately looking around for the perpetrator.

I'd really appreciate if you s-stopped doing that!

Pleading didn't seem to have an effect. As the volleyball-shaped dragon was encircled by ghostly wisps of flame, she started to lose patience. Though she was a shy girl at heart, the constant teasing caused something inside her to stir...

I said LEAVE ME ALONE!!

Giving in to her feral instincts, the dragonness thrashed about in a blind Rage.

The mischievous little ghost had expected great results, since he does consider himself to be pretty damn good at pulling pranks, but he definitely hadn’t expected an outburst of the magnitude shown by the dragon. Wow! Speechless, he watches; NORMAL attacks going through his spectral body while causing no harm at all.

Now, if the Shuppet had lips (maybe he does under that blanket of his?), he’d lick them there and then, for it’s at that very moment that the Shelgon would probably begin to feel as if her rage fades away.

No… It’s almost like it’s being taken from her… Absorbed by the ghost that suddenly reveals itself. It looks incredibly pleased.

The middle-stage Dragon type stopped rampaging, breathing heavily while staring at this newfound entity. Her irrational anger was gone; siphoned away by the mischievous spirit.

What do you want from me?

Even though she was no longer enraged, the Shelgon was still miffed. All she wanted to do was to be left to her own devices, yet this ghost kept harassing her. She had to stand her ground and show the Shuppet that she was not afraid of it.

I'm a member of the proud draconian tribe! I'm a carrier of the late, great Meatloaf's legacy! I will not be intimidated by the likes of you!

A bit overdramatic, but she was trying to come out of her shell in the proverbial sense here.

Fae had told him to behave, but as the little ghost sees it, he hasn’t done anything particularly awful just yet. Sure, yeah, the very round dragon got a little annoyed, but dragons are always grumpy, aren’t they? Or, well, at least they are in his experience…

A frustrated look permeated the Shelgon's shrouded visage, as she tried in vain to keep up with the giggling Shuppet's rapid teleportation.

I told you to stop doing that!

She couldn't allow herself to lose her cool again. That's exactly what schoolyard bullies wanted. Besides, acting all tough and mighty didn't really sound like her. She was a gentle soul. The dragonness took a moment to calm herself down and clear her head. Now she was focused.

As soon as the impish specter reemerged from the shadows, she reached to take a Bite out of it with her hidden jaws.
