“See any yet?”

Hideo knew firsthand how rough a hungry Ursaring could be: more than one had caused trouble at his camp, and it would take some effort to repel them. He never really thought about dealing with them beyond “they won’t take my food” and “they won’t tear up my camp”. Now, they had to actually make sure those bears were fed.

But first, they had to actually find the bears first. Something he wasn’t actually that adept at, but that’s part of what Melody was here for.

Also, why he had a Pangoro with him - because they were probably gonna have to stop the hungry bears from just taking all the food from them, and she was more than prepared to fend off any.

“Don’t wanna get surrounded by a bunch of them.”

His attention was drawn to the nearby rustling of a bush - and his Pangoro was already in front of him, readying herself for a fight.

Black beady eyes poked out from the rustled bush, but only for a moment, retreating afterwards.

"Wild Pokemon love to pop out of nowhere," Hideo said, shrugging, "but I'll take your word for it." Sounded like she was pretty well-prepared for this too, so he silently followed along, his Pangoro keeping her eyes out for any more black beady eyes that peered at them.

Hideo heard something drop by Melody, followed by her putting on a very blatant act. For a moment, he was confused, until the smell hit him.

Well, at least they'd know where the bears were. He'd help her out with that.

"Oh wowzers!" Hideo "exclaimed", his hands on his cheeks, "They smell amazing! Can we really eat those all by ourselves?!"

Their combined acting skills seemed to work, the black beady eyes emerging from the bush. The Teddiursa that followed them bought into it, making its way towards the pile.

Followed closely by an Ursaluna.

Admittedly, the treats did smell really good. And it wouldn't have been the first time he'd tried out a Pokemon treat.

"Awwww," he over-dramatically moaned, "But they smell so gooooood! And Tuffie here can't eat them all by herself!"

His Pangoro rolled her eyes, her focus still on the approaching bears. She was careful to keep herself between Hideo and the hungry bears, but didn't obstruct them as they approached.

Hideo nodded as Melody informed him of what he'd already heard, backing away slightly. "Sounds like we got some Pokemon to share these with," he said, "And we got plenty to share~"

Though he did raise an eyebrow as Melody threatened the treats to keep the bears in line. He didn't plan to undermine her, but it seemed a bit excessive in his mind.

"...she won't have to do anything if you're all acting nice." While the statement was directed more towards Melody's threat, it applied to his Pangoro as well, who was pushing a fist into an open hand; she was ready to fight if the bears were going to cause any trouble.

If the Ursaluna was at all threatened, it didn't show it, though the threat of burnt treats clearly scared the Teddiursa, who near-tearfully nodded as it slowly approached the treats, Ursaluna in tow.

Their combined act seemed to work well, the bears drawn into their trap. The trap that Hideo was totally 100% aware of and totally wasn't pretending he didn't know of up until this point.

The moment Melody shouted, Hideo and his Pangoro covered their ears, letting the Kricketune lull them into a slumber. Hideo didn't remove his hands until his Pangoro did it for him, gently moving them aside - he had no way to know the bears were asleep without possibly getting himself put to sleep.

Now it was just a matter of waiting for someone to bring the bears somewhere else.

Though he was mildly irked by Melody's accusation, pouting slightly. "C'mon, Melody. I knew those were bait for the bears." Good-smelling, probably-good-tasting bait. "If the bears are bothering people for food, they'll be looking for food people'll like. Most wild Pokemon don't think too hard about it."

And it worked, the sleeping bears none the wiser.

"So…uh, where did you get those cookies from anyways?"

Hideo nodded as Melody explained her sweets source.

"I've heard of some places run by Pokemon. Though I dunno if any I've been to were run by Pokemon, or just had them as staff." Hopefully they were well-trained; he knew some of his Pokemon would probably burn the place down trying to microwave popcorn.

"But yeah, I'm totally down to get some cookies. Just hoping the Lucario isn't yelling at anyone while we're there." Nothing like a nice, post-victory sweets run. "You can have some too, Tuffie."

There was an affirmative grunt from the Pangoro, a grin on her face.
