the orthworm veers to a halt as it feels a sudden lack of weight on its back. it's about to slide back over to pick up the fidough but lam gets to it first. so, tinkatink smacks orthworm on its head to get it back on track.[break][break]

"okay!"[break][break]

thankfully for lam, the rest of the run is short and breezy. after about twenty minutes, they slow to a halt, now approaching the border of slateport city.[break][break]

"and that's it! how was it?"

The shinx barely misses crashing into the orthworm when it slides to a stop. This earns the feline a bonk from the tinkatink. Noodle tries to knock the hammer from its hand before darting ahead again.[break][break]

Bagel Bite is content to be carried the rest of the way—which means Lam is exceedingly grateful for the eased pace. But he’s still winded when they eventually slow to a stop.[break][break]

“Definitely…harder than I would have pushed myself in my own,” he replies as he tries to catch his breath.[break][break]

But the extra kick is a good thing, probably. An actual kick to improve rather than plateau.

it goes unsaid but matias appreciates having company while on his workouts. it makes them less boring and even more intensive.[break][break]

when they've all started to cool down, his tinkatink has fallen asleep right atop the orthworm, its hammer falling to its side as it snores.[break][break]

“Yeah, good thing. Definitely.” He flashes Matias a thumbs up. A good thing once he’s more in shape again.[break][break]

He’s probably gonna pass right out when he gets home, but that’s fine. No pain, no gain blah blah. “For sure, I’m down!”[break][break]

The fidough in his arms has also started to nod off and his shinx is pawing at his ankles to get picked up too—in need of a recharge.[break][break]

The sleeping tinkatink is cute sight, though, and before he scoops the shinx up, he offers the orthworm another pat on the head for all of the bonks it received today.[break][break]

“Yeah. Looks like it,” he shrugs as he juggles his tuckered pokemon. “That sounds good! I’ll catch you then.”
