Standing in the wake of his mentor's new office — though "new" was a relative term, considering that THEO BECKETT had held the seat for a while — Jayden wondered the turn of events that could have led him here. Five years ago, he would have never considered that he would have been able to squeeze enough out of his father's realm of influence to become independent enough to lead him here: in an Underboss' office, providing him a report and a proposal.

[break][break] Once Jayden finished giving the other a verbal report of all that had happened in Littleroot, he had handed over the documents that he and Felix Gallagher had prepared together. Everything was in order now, the puzzle pieces set-up. Of course, there was the matter of discussing it with the upper brass — and later, declan walsh — but operation LOCKBOX was set in motion.

[break][break] As he waits for THEO BECKETT to peruse the file, his thoughts wander. While their communication with Kanto continued to be difficult, there was no arguing that they needed more personnel after the losses the organization had obtained prior to Meteno hitting Hoenn. Jayden had already brought it up to THEO BECKETT before, how different Hoenn was from Kanto. Bringing along some Kanto recruits would help in the strength of their organization, creating a formidable base for attack.

[break][break] "I'll work on the training aspect," he mentions off-handedly. "But we need stronger blood in our ranks."

operation LOCKBOX is by no means a surprise, but he is still impressed at how fast jayden and Felix Gallagher were able to turn it around even if he does not share as much. the look on his face as he reads through the file is the same as ever.[break][break]

His two Umbreon pace the office behind him, curiosity in their eyes as they explore their surroundings. Though Jayden visits Theo often enough, it's rarely as official as being in the underboss' quarters.

[break][break] The crisp air of Mt. Pyre, the aching feeling of empty lungs, is more of a common occurance.

[break][break] "First, I've gotten clearance to work with our comrades in Kanto. The process will be a hassle, but we wouldn't have to put as much work into seasoned recruits."

[break][break] His lips press together.

[break][break] "And I have two recruits in mind on Hoenn that would make powerful additions to our roster now." He thinks of the conversation that he had not that long ago with Marza Volchitsa. Jayden had not brought it up to fern delaney, but he had been thinking of it since then of how the woman's potential was wasted. She had a long tenure within Rocket, and her father had been a commendable member of their ranks. It made no sense that she was wasting her time on grunt work, especially after all that she had done in Mt. Pyre. "Marza Volchitsa. mint frost."

[break][break] The latter shouldn't have been much a surprise, considering how closely THEO BECKETT mentored him.

when the two names are brought up, theo reaches for his journal, opening it before skimming to find the appropriate entries. he continues talking in the meantime.[break][break]

mint frost had been the one to recommend his current skincare routine, after all. not to mention all the hours they've spent training together. and Marza Volchitsa has been someone he's worked with before even in kanto.[break][break]

He folds his arms, expression careful in thought.

[break][break] "I had the opportunity to work with Marza Volchitsa on a mission recently. Her loyalty to Rocket and persistence to our cause deserves to be rewarded. She is a formidable fighter in battle as well, as shown by her efforts on Mt. Pyre."

[break][break] Theo would also know that Marza had been apart of Kanto Rocket as well, which only added to their cause in Jayden's opinion. They needed people who were more aggressive, more brutal and willing to die for their cause then the current regimen.

[break][break] "As for Mint, both you and I have worked closely with him and I believe he's made milestones since his first integration into Rocket." A pause. "I have a personal stake in his development too, since I was the one who recruited him into Rocket."

[break][break] Over the months - years - Jayden had known the other, he had kept a close eye on his progress. While Mint didn't cut the most formidable of figures, the Admin had absolute faith that the other would do what was needed for Rocket's cause. If not, Jayden would personally hunt him down.

[break][break] Just like he felt responsible for Ashley Shepard.

[break][break] "Not to mention, Felix Gallagher and I have worked closely with him with SPECTRA. From what I know, he's collected his fair amount of badges and done intel on the gym challenge. CERBERUS continues to make strides in keeping tabs on Katherine Fairburne and MATIAS SILPH. Having him as a Beast would only strengthen the cause of that initiative."

the role is quite niche, after all. it calls for aggression and a lack of mercy even if the situation calls for it. they are rocket's most brutal weapons. mint frost frost, however?[break][break]
