Oh, this absolutely has to be just beginner’s luck. There’s no way they’re actually good at this with the first line cast they had. They just…managed to land in the exact right spot, that’s all.[break][break]

A hatenna settles beside them, cheering when their catch is successful. Fern is more attentive to the praise that comes from Theo, however.[break][break]

“Who knew fishing could be so exhilarating.” No wonder Theo takes an active interest in it. Or maybe to him, it’s a peaceful endeavor.

Too fixated on the river, he startles when a wiglett pops up from the earth beside, obviously looking to startle him. It succeeds, annoyingly. As payback he bops the top of its head with a pokeball. That’ll show the weird creature what’s what.[break][break]

Releasing a breath, his attention returns to his company.[break][break]

“That sounds nice.” He retains some of the things his own da taught him, once upon a time, too.[break][break]

“Were you close with your father?” He notes the was. Doesn’t make much fuss over it. It seems fortuitous that he’s even getting this much from Theo’s normally stoic self.
