it's that time again where matias takes an evening to himself to venture through the safari zone. there, in the dead of night, is where he embarks on his walk, much like a young trainer departing on their journey across the region.[break][break]

he wonders what that would've been like to travel across kanto at the age of ten. it couldn't have turned out well, he supposes, with how close war loomed back then.[break][break]

it's not often matias is caught off guard but every now and then there are surprises. like how a wild darumaka comes FLARE BLITZING out of the blue, scorching everything in its path until it eventually hits the paldean tauros.[break][break]

fitting for his team, no dobut. it's why he takes out the safari ball and waits until his tauros hits a GIGA IMPACT before tossing it at the darumaka.

an OMINOUS WIND blows onto the scene, frigid and cold like the winds of winter, though not nearly cold enough to deter him from venturing deeper into the safari zone. it will have to be dealt with, however.[break][break]

a crack before a loud thud, over and over again like a broken record. with a nod of his head, he sends his tauros charging ahead, breaking through tall grass to find the source of the sound.[break][break]

the STORM THROWING pancham has another pancham held. the other one's clearly fainted, likely from the repeated attacks. the one that hasn't fainted turns to the tauros, SCRAPPY as ever before it leaps at them.[break][break]

a FLARE BLITZ catches it off guard. a safari ball follows.

a cutiefly's QUIVER DANCE buzzes in the near distance, drawing their attention to it. if not for that, then definitely for the BUG BUZZ that follows because that attack is very loud.[break][break]

but he's familiar with battling loud pokemon due to Melody Miro. it's why he has earplugs on him now.[break][break]

sliding the ear plugs in, he points at the cutiefly, then watches his tauros steam off towards it for a ZEN HEADBUTT.[break][break]

with his final safari ball, what better choice is there than one of paldaen's cutest pokemon? a cutie shrimp that's also a shiny. aggressive, too, with how it sends a wave of MUDDY WATER over at tauros who takes it, bracing through the pain.[break][break]
