Magical concoctions of ancient times, made from various herbs, leaves and grains of green-type pokemon. Told to be a rather miraculous cure of all sorts of illnesses if drunk during the new year. To anyone, it might seem like some old wife's tale that the mother's tell to get kids to drink all sorts of healthy things but even that small bit of belief is enough to have people hankering after such a cure.[break][break]

A small grunt of frustration catches her attention, the brief glimpse of a flicking purple tail telling her more than what she needs as she bites back a laugh.[break][break]

"Keep looking, Dianthus... Maybe they're hiding under the snow?"[break][break]

The Espeon sighs in response, kicking up bits of powdered snow as she turns around once more and begins digging.

It had been an uneventful day so far, with the man taking a moment to enjoy a comforting walk in the woods with the company of his Arcanine. The fire pokemon had been fairly restless as of late, no doubt from the time they had begun to sit inside all day compared to Kanto. Ryuji did try his best to take some time for them to set aside and exercise a little. His doctor had always said it was good for his mental health, but he never really did see the benefit to it. So it came by some luck that he stumbled upon quite the sight: a girl and her Espeon out digging in the forest. Ryuji watched for a second before that hero in him would make him stop and walk over.

"Did you lose something?" The man asked in this thick Kanton accent, his long and messy ponytail bouncing behind him as he made his way over. "If you're trying to dig for something, Ace and I can help."

Had it not been for Dianthus' somewhat timely warning, Amaryllis might have jumped several feet in the air by the sudden voice behind her. Instead, she laughs at the question posed and turns to face the stranger.[break][break]

"No... but have you heard of the whole folktale of Budew wine?" The accent is taken in stride, her gaze never betraying the faint traces of pity in her heart. "We were looking for the ingredients to make it."

Ryuji put a finger on his chin at her response. "Budew Wine, hm? I've heard of it before. It's a bit crazy to be out in the snow chasing legends." The private investigator said before promptly giving a smirk as he'd slid down to her level and begin to just carefully dig around the snow as if he had been currently been with the woman from the start. His breath rang cold in the air while the red locks of hair bounced around as he dug into the snow. "So let's go dig in the snow, chasing legends together. I'm Ryuji, and this is Ace." The Arcanine let out a deep, elated woof in response, his massive paws eagerly digging into the ground below.

"It looks like he's just as eager as you two are."

"Well, itis better to chase legends than wallow in despair!" She quips back, shuffling just a little to the side so the man can join her on her hunt. "Amaryllis, most just call me Lis. And that grumpypants over there is Dianthus."[break][break]

A pile of snow barely flies over her head as she ducks with laughter. And her Espeon watches with sheer contempt, huffing and turning sharply before stabbing her paws into the snow once more.[break][break]

"As you can see, not exactly the most eager, but she's been at it for a while." Waving the air as if clearing it, Amaryllis looks to Ryuji and hums. "So what are you doing out here? Trying to ponder the next incoming crisis of Hoenn or something?"

"A pleasure to meet you, Lis, Dianthus." The Kanto man gave a bow of his head before continuing to dig around for the ingredients in question. His red hair stood out amongst the softer colors of the forest both were in as much as his Arcanine, who was already digging to his heart's content. "Are we looking for something in particular or going about this from step one? I'm sure Ace can melt the snow away to make things go a bit easier if that would help our search any." he asked just in time to be hit in the face with a bundle of snow from the Espeon. He sat still for a moment while Lis chuckled to herself and proceeded to wipe away the residue as she spoke up again about her partner who was going about his own search for ingredients. Crimson eyes shot to the Espeon in a short wave of his hand, though he wondered if the poor thing even saw. Hopefully she wasn't freezing out here.

Lis asked Ryuji about what he was doing out here as he continued to dig into the earth while answering. "You could say that." he smirked, musing about his walk out of the house and getting some fresh air. Hoenn had seen its fair share of battles and there was little time for breathing room directly after a meteor had nearly carved out a chunk of the planet. It almost made what happened in Kanto just appear like any other day in the cosmic scheme of things. "Sometimes I just need to clear my head of things." Ryuji said, "I'm just a guy trying to find a purpose, same as everybody else. And sometimes, the best way to help yourself is to help others."

He tossed his snow pile away from himself to make room for the next and would exhale, shaking his hands free of snow. "I'm still working on it though. What about you two? Just in the mood to hunt down things to make a legendary wine out of the blue?"

When she looks back up, it's to the sight of the poor stranger wiping snow from his brow. Did ryuji katahara really get hit by the snow she dodged? Then that would technically have been her fault for not taking it, right? Oh well, she won't perceive it as long as he doesn't bring it up.[break][break]

"Well, I hope you'll find some peace of mind." She hums, pushing away yet another pile of snow. "As for me, well... I think it'd be nice to offer up some help to the locals, earn a little bit of money on the side."[break][break]

There's much more that she could say, but she holds her tongue in favour of humming a tune.

Ace let out another bark, having managed to somehow dig a hole the size of the average Arcanine. The redhead's view looked up as he groaned, letting out a sharp whistle. "Not so deep, Ace! We're only digging under the snow." Ryuji continued packing the snow to his right and exposed some of the grass and herbs underneath for Lis to view in some hopes it was what she might have been looking for. "Both are noble reasons at least. This world could always use some more generosity in times like these." The man mused, chuckling to himself while his pawing continued. Ace shook his fiery orange fur while starting to burn the snow away while making sure not to touch any of the other trees around them. Ryuji debated making him stop, but he seemed controlled enough to not allow himself to go overboard.

"Are you cold, Lis?" Ryuji asked, motioning to the heavy trench coat that he wore over his shoulders, "I don't want you to catch a cold or something out here."

Noble? Generous? She keeps her gaze stuck to the ground and herbs that ryuji katahara reveals, carefully picking them out and sorting them into a small pouch.[break][break]

"You think too highly of me." With the proper herbs separated from the weeds, Amaryllis beckons for Dianthus to come over. "And well, you're right. I'll probably catch a cold if I stay out for too long."[break][break]

Tucking the pouch away, she gets up to her feet and starts to stretch.[break][break]

"Wanna join me for a walk back to town or still need a bit of time for yourself?"

"I get that a lot." Ryuji smirked at Lis, taking a moment to just watch as she'd go and get the herbs into a pouch awaiting inside of a pouched on her person. "I like to call it seeing the good in people. But my boss just calls it being naïve. It's too cold to really be chasing people through the woods anyway." The smaller girl stood up and he rose up to his own and whistled three times in rapid succession. Ace popped his head back up and trotted back over to his side while Ryuji moved to brush the snow off of his pants and nod to her proposed agreement.

"A walk back to town sounds nice. Glad we could lend a hand in getting you that wine."

He set off besides Lis and would make his way back to town beside her. The redhead kept his hands in his pockets while the four of them would pass by trees. "Up for a drink when we get back?"
