Soon, Andrea's Slowking returned to normal, and the eccentric trainer gave the Tera Orb back to Lulu. "Here you go. Thanks for letting me use it."

When the latter inquired as to where she'd seen a Water Tera crown before, Andrea assumed a reminiscing look. "Well, in Shoal Cave there was this den of Excadrill, who were being led by a really weird Pokémon that looked like a bunch of blocks stacked into a pyramid.

Ultra Beasts were weird, but Garganacl and its line? They looked like they'd come from an entirely different world; a world where everything - even the sun, the moon and the clouds - was a square. A world of mining and crafting, if you will.

"Anyway, that Pokémon Terastallized into a Water type and wore that same fountain-shaped hat on its head." The young PokéManiac finished explaining.

she took the tera orb back, turning it a few degrees in her hand to inspect for any changes before pocketing it again.[break][break]

”sure,” she returned coolly.[break][break]

the description of the garganacl didn’t ring a bell as any pokemon she was familiar with in hoenn. perhaps one of the newer paldean species, or something else entirely.[break][break]

”i see. and you’re not sure what kind of pokemon it was?”

The eccentric trainer shook her head. "Nope, no idea. Maybe it was an Ultra Beast? I've heard there's one that looks like a bunch of bricks." Stakataka that thing was not, but there was no way for her to know that.

"Anyway, what should we do with this?" The girl patted the large Tera Crystal. "Since we found it together, should we split it fifty-fifty?" She suggested.

Was it even possible to split it? In the past, that mineral had shown itself to be extremely resilient, nothing short of Z-Moves or legendary Pokémon being able to put a dent in it.

“stakataka.” she remembered the one she’d seen vividly during the three day war, when cotillard had appeared with one out of nowhere beside her in a box truck that had just taken a tumble off a cliff. a wild event.[break][break]

split the tera shard? if she’d been holding onto any hope for andrea’s potential as a scientist, this question was the nail in the coffin.[break][break]

”sadly, no, i don’t believe that’s possible.” considering it had taken the power of rayquaza to put so much as a chip in the tera crystal—something andrea had been witness to, presumably.[break][break]

she could have taken it, but water? not quite her style. besides, she was building trust.[break][break]

”why don’t you keep it?”

"Bless you." The dragon-hooded girl said, not realizing that Stakataka was actually the name of the Ultra Beast. "Do you have allergies?"

A pensive frown permeated Andrea's visage when the Rocket scientist declared splitting the crystal impossible. "Yeah, I figured so. We'd probably need Rayquaza or something..."

Lulu's generosity instantly turned that frown upside down. "Really, I can have it? Thank you so much, Ms. Lulu!" The girl said, bounding towards the older woman with open arms. Watch out, she's a hugger!

she blinked. endlessly amusing, this one. only, not really. not to the scientist, to whom andrea’s company was quickly and inevitably tiring.[break][break]

”probably.” or kyurem, maybe. or any of the other titanous monstrosities that loomed beyond the visible fabric of their world.[break][break]

when andrea neared with arms outstretched, lulu took a large step back, a hand up to stop her. ”thanks’ll do.”[break][break]

after putting some distance between them, she informed her, ”it’s about time i get going.” for she could only handle such people in small amounts. somehow, rocket seemed to be full of similarly eccentric characters. ”but i’m sure we’ll run into one another again.”

Instead of giving Lulu a big ol' hug, Andrea talked to the hand. The Rocket scientist saw herself out, saying that the two of them would no doubt meet again. That assertion sounded equal parts promising and ominous. Would their next meeting be under such favorable circumstances?

"OK... Bye, Ms. Lulu! Take care!" The dragon enthusiast waved, before pocketing the Tera shard and sending Bronson back into his ball. Then, with Finn's help, she Dug her way out of the cave.
