Ruby snickered at the mental image that Isaac conjured. "Yeah."

[break][break]The conversation took a turn for the somber. Ruby kept looking at that spot on the ceiling as Isaac talked about how it'd take time and how the grief and mourning wouldn't be a smooth process. Ruby sighed.

[break][break]After all, she'd gone through the same thing with her father just a few years ago. Maybe that was why Cerberus's loss hurt so much: she still wasn't over what had happened during the Ultra Beast War. That tiny sliver of hope she'd found in the midst of this mess had been ripped away yet again, and it was getting harder to want to search for that light in the darkness when it could just get snuffed out.
