Oliver reread his instructions. The Silent Icelands...and Kyreum. Even the most potent of fire Pokemon weren't spared the icy grave. The struggle for Hoenn to continue existing...and to understand what was going on and causing these disasters, and why was everything trying to destroy it. But it was better to keep fighting than lying down and die. At least you could boast that you fought till the end. But these reports of a strange Pokemon and more got him sent out here, since it was so similar to what he had encountered before.

That strange Pokemon on the coastline trying to get out so desperately. He didn't bring his Dragonite with him for this. Ice and dragon-types usually don't mix well. And there was plenty of ice-types around, but they were far more skittish than the appearance of a human normally causes. And he found out why. A scene very similar to one that he had witnessed with his Dragonite played out in front of him. Putting away his orders, he spoke outloud. "I doubt that little guy has any power to offer you. And I thought you wanted out. I figured as soon as the barrier was destroyed, you'd be out of here. What gives? Grown attached to our chaotic region?" His voice had a tinge of amusement in it. But he also hoped that the Pokemon wasn't just eating that Arctibax.

MEWTWO PAYS THE HUMAN NO MIND. the entirety of its focus is on the struggling pokemon trashing inside of it. oliver will witness, first hand, the pokemon’s futility. the way the wriggling starts to slow as the ARCTIBAX tires. eventually, it comes to a still. a sure sign that the pokemon has no hope of escaping.

ALL POKEMON HAVE POWER.

AND WE REQUIRE ALL POKEMON.

moments after, the mewtwo expands once more. its chest opens up and spits out the startled ARCTIBAX. still in shock, the wild pokemon remains frozen for a few seconds before scrambling away as fast as it can.

As per usual, the Pokemon didn't pay him much mind. That was quickly getting annoying. The poor little guy tired out and stopped struggling as the creature answered him. All Pokemon have power. And we require all Pokemon. Cryptic, and ominous. Just like before, its chest opened up and spewed the little guy out. While in shock, it took a bit before it realized that it was free and scrambled away. Though it was tempting to catch it. Oliver left it. "And what will you do when you've copied every Pokemon?" Walking forward, he stopped only about four feet away. This thing never showed hostile intentions towards him before, but that didn't necessarily mean that would hold true here.

the pokemon has no answer for the boy. such a concept eludes mewtwo. for it has fixated on the only purpose it has known since birth. a promise made by the creator that its own sense of purpose would be achieved.

WE WILL RETURN TO THE CREATOR.

the closer oliver gets the better view he has of the pokemon. what seems to be a small pimple or obstructure slowly grows into the head shape of the ARTICBAX from earlier. it’s still a part of mewtwo’s flesh, with no visible traits that suggest otherwise, but the shape is distinct and clear.

Oliver stared at the Pokemon, its silence quite telling. Well, kind of, until it answered. We will return to the Creator. Another ominous sign. But he had to give the creature the benefit of the doubt. Even as a small pimple on it soon became the head of the Articbax. He tried to see if there was more on its body. "Who or what is your creator? Do you know what they intend to do with you after you copied more than a thousand Pokemon?" The ranger had more questions, but at the same time he didn't want to overwhelm or pester it too much. More so in this icy graveyard, he wouldn't want to join it.

THERE IS NO BODY. just the alien head that balloons back into nothingness. the flesh that was once alive now becomes viscous. reforming until the pokemon smooths over to its more familiar form.

THE CREATOR MADE US.

mewtwo raises a single pay toward oliver’s direction. purple rings of PSYCHIC power come to life with an eerie hum.

No body? What did that mean? The creator made us, and they know our purpose...and its purpose is to gather power? Hmm...that made him nervious...but at the moment, the creature still haven't really done anything to make him believe that it was truly a threat to himself, people, or Pokemon in general. Just creepy and maybe inflicting some mild PTSD with its absorbing shenanigans. Then it raised a paw at Ollie, purple rings surrounding it. His Chansey and Hydreigon burst out of their Pokeballs to defend him, but held back given Oliver's signal.

"My purpose is to protect Pokemon, people, and this region. You're...unusual. That's why I ask so many questions. To understand you, and determine if you're a threat. So far, you are not, from my understanding. Violence may be the most efficient way to solve problems, but it is not always the best way. I'm not here to fight. Just investigate." Though that could also change in a heartbeat. His two Pokemon waited patiently, not knowing what to make of this creature either.

PSYCHIC POWER EMINATES FROM THE MYSTERIOUS POKEMON. the appearance of oliver’s own pokemon make no difference. the mewtwo will not be dissuaded.

an exertion of force picks up the wind all around them, but that’s the extent of the pokemon’s moves. no harm befalls those there. just the raw PRESSURE of the mewtwo’s presence.

WE ARE…

US.

and, no sooner than the voice riddles into oliver’s mind, does the pokemon fly off. where to? no one quite knows. but hoenn will soon learn just what exactly roams its countryside.

"Not yet." Was his simple answer as the ranger stood there, unwavering and unflinching, even as Psychic power whirled around him. Even with the pressure of the Pokemon's presence, Oliver was fearless. With one last cryptic message, all Oliver got was concern about what is to come. Oliver was confident that the odd Pokemon would continue to tour the countryside, absorbing whatever power that it could from Pokemon, but otherwise not harming them. And staying enough away from people as to not be a threat. But the fact that it had a master that wanted it to do all this...well, hopefully they can try to track it and keep an eye on it, even if from a distance. He turned around, started a morbid tour of the new Icelands.
