His heart ached in memory of how frightened Emma had seemed of him, of the rift between himself and Marcel when he'd so much as been entrusted with Lugia's care. Nomi was different.[break][break]

His attention returns to Naomi as she speaks, accepting her appreciative words with a curt nod.[break][break]

"It feels... hm." How to describe something that, to him, was natural? "I might ask you how it feels to control your arm. It's not something you think about; it just is. Does that make sense?"[break][break]

The SHADOW MIASMA and his powers of possession felt like another limb, an extension of himself that bent to his will.[break][break]

"They are definitely under my control. I've done it even without Lugia present." He'd done it, indeed, without even noticing, the first couple of times. It had been his will to control them, rather than direct intervention. "I feel no different. I can't speak to how the Pokémon might feel. Perhaps we could do tests, to that end."

"There are many tests we could run," she agreed, smiling. "I already have ideas." She always had ideas, her imagination an asset when it came to her research. No stone left unturned: no possibility left unexplored. She was already making a mental list of what she wanted to try next.[break][break]
But Gavin was a busy man with a crime syndicate to run, in addition to his personal life. Perhaps they should reconvene at a later time - set up a follow-up session together. In fact, it would please Nomi to have regularly scheduled one-on-one time with Gavin, for more reasons than just the scientific ones. She liked the idea of continuing to get to know the man better; he might be one of her highest up bosses, but he also felt like...well, a friend. Someone like-minded. Someone she could rely upon to help her because he wanted to, not just because Rocket needed him to.[break][break]
"Would you be open to meeting with me on an ongoing basis?" She asked eagerly. "Private sessions where we test your powers, as well as the Pokémon affected by them?"
