she had been curious to work with ceri, never having spent much one-on-one time with her, but aware of her talent. she imagined as things moved forward, however, Naomi Sato would be overseeing that realm of rocket’s studies.[break][break]

they’d landed on the moon, and the head scientist’s poipole had gone to join the toxicologist on the mysterious lunar surface. with lulu's awareness of her affinity for poison-types and ultra beasts, it was, in part, a friendly gesture. [break][break]

from a small distance away, she reminded over comms, ”deoxys seemed to have been contained within a triangular rock formation on the meteor. keep an eye out and alert me if you see anything.” an obvious but necessary command.[break][break]

she wouldn’t be venturing too far, knowing well that dimensional threats and alien life were not to be underestimated. meanwhile,
poipole stuck near ceri, smiling in her orbit and giggling inexplicably on occasion.[break][break]

catching the familiar sound, lulu added, ”also, if penrose starts to bother you, feel free to let me know.”

See, Ceri Glynn is someone who places a high value on her life; she's young, beautiful, funny, a great dancer, and above all else, talented and way too fucking smart. Such being the case, she's not a big fan of the prospect of ending up with her head popping like a balloon in space, but what is also true about Ceri is that she values discovery above all else.

Do both of these things conflict? Not often, but they sure do when going to the fucking moon is concerned.

Thankfully for Ceri, Team Rocket makes the decision for her, and all of her self-preservation instincts to stay making discoveries in the controlled environment that is her lab are pushed out the window. Silver lining of it all? Space training had been great for staying in shape, she's working with someone she admires (Lulu Flint), her companion is an adorable Poipole, and she's on the fucking moon looking for aliens! All-in-all a great trade-off.

"Ah, don't worry about Penrose, he's a total cutie." Ceri says, a soft giggle of her own matching that of the Poipole. Lulu is right about her fondness for Ultra Beast, and being that Poipole happen to be poison type and adorable, they're actually one of her favourite Pokémon (second only to Nihilego). She's thankful that the head scientist had been thoughtful enough to send Penrose with her, and with the Poipole by her side, she steps forward, still growing accustomed to the difference in gravity.

"Do we really think there's more Deoxys out here? I suppose with just one it could have been more of an isolated incident, but if more keep appearing it would point towards something like a mass migration—..." Ceri muses while stepping onto the lunar surface, knowing the camera on her suit (currently possessed by her Rotom, Pixel) is recording everything. There's excitement in her voice, and when she's excited, the Northern Galarian lilt Lulu would perhaps easily recognize becomes even more obvious. "It would be cool to know why they left their planet... and where they came from to begin with."

She makes sure to at least collect standard soil samples to bring back, her work ever quick and precise.

she was inclined to agree about penrose. the poipole was very cute, and despite not being of much use most of the time, its company had grown on the head scientist. the agreement wasn’t expressed over comms, however, the corner of her lips curled.[break][break]

not having spent much time with ceri, lulu hadn’t picked up on the familiar accent until that moment. it was endearing. she wanted to ask what it was, exactly. what area. yet again, she was quiet, eyes alert.[break][break]

mass migration sounded fucking terrifying.[break][break]

”it would,” she agreed. ”if only the deoxys already in rocket’s possession were easier to study.”[break][break]

”the core that the one on meteno turned into is interesting, though i haven’t had a look at it myself…” perhaps eventually, she would bite the bullet and ask the underboss who possessed it for a look.
