what would have been a beautiful sight to some does not stay peaceful for long. it seems their presence even from afar has disturbed them.[break][break]

several ultra beast turn toward them, coils whipping as they start their rush. only when they do does the power source reveal itself to be...[break][break]

Another one, Katherine almost complains-- until her eyes actually meet the gigantic Regieleki. It's not normal. It's not like the one they've encountered before. Her eyes narrow slightly as an image surfaces in her mind of a similar Pokemon of similar size, both seemingly having fed on something to grow this big.

As much as she wants to stay and study the phenomenon, she can't. Not when they've drawn the attention of this many Ultra Beasts.

Her thoughts fall away when Stakataka cubes join together to form a wall as an obstacle in their path, posing as another trap. "Break through it!" She instructs, and her Marowark quickly answers the request by stomping on the ground and splintering the earth; it then uses its bone to hit the debris as if they were baseballs.

Staggered, the cubes slowly move in an attempt to close off the party's escape path-- but not before the Malevolent hurls a Pokeball at them, "Fuck that. We're getting out of here now."

THE WILDS

JUST AS STARLTED BY THEIR DISCOVERY, fernando defaults to the role of overseer. the responsibility of their wellbeing falls on him. whatever cushion room he can buy their escape, the better.

“BLIZZARD!”

the call to action brings his glalie to the tail end of their party. spinning into position, the pokemon exhales a copious amount of permafrost. ice crawls along the floor and walls, ice sprouting in spiraling spires. it’s an impromptu buffer but grants them a few seconds at most before an electric blast shatters it like glass.

the brief flash of katherine’s pokeball causes one of the ultra beast to momentarily disappear. following suit, fernando discards the the few empty pokeballs he has on them. he doesn’t expect a capture, but even a few seconds of the pokemon being sucked into the device may buy them a crucial pocket of leniency.

“deploy any spare balls you have on you!"

Rory sandshrew contributed to FERNANDO SILPH's BLIZZARD, adding to its biting freeze. It allows the sheet of ice to regrow with every electric blast, providing heavenly opportunities to strike their lanky bodies with their pokeballs.

Toss after toss, the young electrician dug into her satchel for more pokeballs to throw, sucking up the ultra beasts along with the others within the party.

It looked to be working.

he fumbles into his backpack, quick to deploy any empty pokeballs he has on him. they tumble along the ground, rolling behind them only for one to pop open to suck in a XURKITREE.[break][break]

"it worked!"[break][break]

but one out of a dozen isn't going to do them any good. he continues running, looking back to see the zygarde swooping up the pokeball.[break][break]

it covers their retreat with LAND'S WRATH.[break][break]

The Pokeball connecting is expected. The aim came naturally for someone like Katherine, who's been in the business of capturing, taming and training pokemon for more than a decade.

She doesn't actually expect the capture to conclude so peacefully, though.

A puzzled look washes her expression before a distorted glimmer reveals itself, tugging slightly on gravity to pull the Pokeball to her hand. Once it's secured, she finally spares a glance at the others.
